I have been looking forward to what you will create this year and this doesn't disappoint. Epic, waves of sound, with a symphonic flavour and fantastic use of aural space. I absolutely love it.

Where good build up. The tension is thick. If you'd like you try add a lift at the end of some of the chord progressions. But very nice. I didn't quite get the ending But maybe the next song in line will clean that up ;)

Oh yeah, I like where this is going. Killer intro, I’m ready for track 2!

@mctown

Dark and dangerous.

[pic]

Yes, please and thank you. The build up is delicious, like watching a fuse burn away to the inevitable explosion.

[pic]

I loved it when the drums came in, and then it just went dark. Rally nice.

Ooh, lovely. As a mission statement, that lands VERY nicely. I love the sound design after the two-minute mark; it conjures up all sorts of Lovecraftian nightmares (I'm reading Charlie Stross's new Laundry novel at the moment, which is relevant to your interests, I'm sure).

And you can't go wrong with ominous double basses.

Very artful. Dark, brooding, and if this was an album intro, you can bet your arse I'd be eager to hear track 2!

[pic]

I completely dig the dissonance. If track doesn't hit me like a thunderstorm and blizzard from second 0, I don't know.

[pic]

Faaaaaak! When that blazing guitar riff comes in atop that haunting melody. Take me anywhere, I’m buckled in for the ride.

[pic]

This is epic! Also, the title fits perfectly :)

[pic]

It is very ominous indeed! Absolutely loving the dissonant guitar. The melody and tone coming in at around 1:28 brings Akhlys to my mind a bit. This one sets the mood for something veeery dark and sinister. Can't wait for more!

[pic]

So cool! Thrilled to be continuing my tradition of starting my FAWM listening with one of your tracks, this is an excellent intro track!

@jinx

Really cool, love the slow build and the guitar sound. Gotta second the comment "ominous" – that says it.

[pic]

Excellent album - and indeed FAWM - intro track! Also a great demonstration of how to keep a build going and going and going and… well, you get the idea. Love how you hit the crest and then we get those steam punky industrial gurgly noises (best way I can describe it, apologies!).

[pic]

Gosh this is cool - and the title totally captures the vibe. The ending makes me feel like there is something horrifying emerging from a swamp or a vat of toxic goo and I am so here for it.

[pic]

Love when the guitar sneaks in after about half a minute, sitting on top of the menace...then just keeps building

[pic]

The start got me waiting for a shark to appear. Then the almighty wild and screaming guitar began. Then came the driving rhythm. Then the gurgling away into the gloom. Many elements of a classic Sapient album ... this is just the beginning!

[pic]

this is the way a haunted house ride should feel. there is real terror in these sounds, no corny shock effects, just a mountingfear of what comes next....an anxiety attack or complete decimation.

@max

The way it builds up is very cinematic. Splendid! Great ending as well, felt like I got stuck in quicksand. Nice one!

[pic]

Beautifully old Doom-school start 😀 Love me some dissonant black metal.

[pic]

Wonderful mood building starter. I can kind of imagine it as the theme for an undead James Bond type film, with those creepy foley noises at the end being the brooding werewolf spy walking into shot. Brilliant noises!

[pic]

This sounds ominous. Almost like it is a prelude to a month of... horrors? Doom? Or, at least, shenanigans. I like the way it builds and really gets going when the drums kick in. Great start!

[pic]

Ohhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I don't consider FAWM started until I've been smashed by an epic Sapient tune. This truly does feel like an emergence. The watery textures at the end have me craving more. Great start!

[pic]

Well played the first complete song of 2026 Fawm. Nice build as well , like fawm i hope. great when the drums appear! Very cool first up

[pic]

What a loud and oppressive atmosphere, perfect introduction! And thoses guitars are perfect! Can't wait to hear what are you gonna cook next, i want more!
