Hi! I'm Chris, your friendly neighbourhood obsessive, Autistic music nerd. My hyperfocus superpower? Music production.
Music is how I cope with burnout, ADHD, complex PTSD, cysts, kidney stones, and gall stones. I shut myself away in my home studio and I play ALL THE INSTRUMENTS—and I've been doing so for quite a while. It's taken my life in unexpected directions, including some recent work as a session bassist with folks like Robert Brian and David Rhodes.
Yes, honestly. Here we are in the Wood Room at Peter Gabriel's Real World recording studio in Wiltshire, UK last year. So. Much. Fun.

I don't use any AI tools in my work. Even if you ignore the quite frankly terrifying environmental concerns or the fact that they only function because their programmers ripped off the work of thousands upon thousands of creative people without their consent, I honestly just don't see the point of them. If I hand over any aspect of my creative process to what amounts to a glorified plagiarism machine, how is that going to improve my skillset? The answer is brutally simple: it can't. For me, AI is an artistic dead end that must be avoided at all costs. I don't even use iZotope's machine learning mastering wizards when I'm mixing or mastering something; I prefer to rely on my ears.
If you use AI, that's fine, you do you; knock yourself out—but don't expect me to have any interest in ever listening to the results. And if you go all-in on it here, you'll probably also find that most people block or mute you.

Hi sorry if I did something wrong trying to start a Haiku thread in Games and challenges. I missed any follow on messages but I noticed it's locked?
No need to stress; you'd duplicated an existing thread. Locking the duplicate is SOP on the forums; the original thread, with many follow-ups, is here: https://fawm.org/forums/4266
ah thanks @headfirstonly - that makes a lot of sense and is reassuring!
hi, I will get around to listening more/commenting at some point!... meanwhile, just to say thanks for zuzai, which resonates. ta
