#Ukulele plinker and occasional #harmonica botherer. Filker. Computer Scientist who should know better. I'm just here to amuse myself but if anyone else is amused too, I suppose I'm doing fine :). I'm sure there'll be more #nerdfolk coming up with the usual mix of silliness, whimsy, and occasional protest. All of it completely written and performed (for the want of a better word) by a human.
Tell you what, though, it doesn't half feel weird doing a thing to amuse yourself when the world is... waves hands around like this. But honestly? Make sure you enjoy yourself. Make sure they see you enjoying yourself. Conspicuously have fun. Joy is an act of resistance.
I've recently bought a synth. Apologies in advance.

thanks for your charming comment on Don´t call me Brigitte.
PS apart from you, me and pabrizzer, are there any other Seasonistas on FAWM that you know of?
I know Del has been around in the past but I don't think I've seen him this year. Otherwise that's all I know of.
Love the sound of that steel strung 8 string. Make, model, price? And where can I get one?
I mean, specifically that one. They photographed them all since they were so distinctive. There was only a small run but I gather there will be more later this year. World of Ukes had a few as well.
That is one gorgeous looking instrument. I was unaware of the existence of steel strung acoustics. Does it have a pick up too?
I have a Baton Rouge Nylon Strung Eight String Baritone that I am very happy with. Yours is at the higher end of my price range, but it is such a unique sound that i am very tempted. That's the great thing about Ukuleles, a really high quality instrument doesn't break the bank. Imagine the price of a 12 string guitar of that quality!
It does! I've been playing it at open mics and people say it sounds lovely. It's more than I would typically pay too but I just couldn't resist it when I saw it. It sounds so sparkly!
Your lyrics are profound, witty, and silly all at the same time. What a gift! I like the minimalism of just a uke and your voice, which has so much character. Amazing to me how you knock out so many songs with thoughtful, witty lyrics. And this has made it into my list of quotes: "Joy is an act of resistance." Very profound and impactful to me. Thank you!
Hi Edwin, I wrote you the other day through your website. But maybe you didn't get the message? (Just checking)
Which website? Via an email address? I'm beginning to wonder if I've put an address that just doesn't work... I haven't seen anything though. The email address in my profile definitely works though.
Hiya, sorry it took me so long to check back (it's been busy). I just wrote you via that email. Hoping it works. If it doesn't, then let me know and I'll try some other way.
Thanks for your nice comment on Pocket Full of Pennies it is much appreciated.
Hey, good to see you here! Happy FAWMing!
Hi Robert! Great to see you here again. (I had a really good time learning your song “Future me” for OVFF this past fall.
Oh gosh! Well, I am looking forward to listening YOUR Pensive teapot songs here. That's so cool you guys are going to be performing the other Robert's "Future Me" at the UK Filk Con tomorrow. I really wish I could be there! It has been ten years since I have attended one, although I did get to see a lot of UK Filkers at Glasgow Worldcon in 2024.
Come to think of it, I'd love to hear you performing Future Me! Anyway - have a great FAWM! I look forward to hearing what you come up with.
Have a Great FAWM!!
Happy FAWM!!!
Thank you for commenting on my song "The Quiet Cold", I really Appreciate it!
