Rebellious acts of kindness

Liner Notes
Sapient and I had a zoom call before starting our collaborations. We barely spoke about the collaborations, but chatted about lots of other things, one of which was about how we were both a little depressed about the state of the world. I mentioned feeling worn out and guilty about not fighting more. He responded that doing small nice things was worthwhile and when I came to write the words for the track, I came back to that. Being nice to people and supporting small businesses helps, maybe not a lot, but hopefully it all adds up. And yes, I nicked the first line from the Beatles, but it just fitted too well not to use it. Fair use?
Lyrics
I read the news today, oh boy Can’t help but feeling we are entering the end times I just had to turn away Ain’t got the energy and I can’t make a difference
Even when you feel like You’ve nothing left to give you can Keep on fighting with Rebellious acts of kindness
‘cause you don’t need to think Too much about the things you cannot affect Keep it local; keep it small ‘cause little actions can have a wider impact
Even when you feel like You’ve nothing left to give you can Keep on fighting with Rebellious acts of kindness
Be nice to people on the phone Smile at dogs and at their owners Buy your art from the artist Share the compliments you’re thinking Go and watch the local band Give your bus seat up for someone Go to markets; buy fresh veg Pick up litter from the street
Even when you feel like You’ve nothing left to give you can Keep on fighting with Rebellious acts of kindness

Love the vocal delivery, such cool melodies! And of course, great riffing 🤘and nice bass work! Great combination of talents!
Hell yes. Gives me 80's Vixen vibes. I like the opening line referencing The Beatles. That bass tone is great. How was that achieved? I love the growling tone. This tune leaves me seeing spandex, hairspray big hair, lights, and Charvel guitars. Well done!
That bass is my Dingwall 5-string running through a Tube Screamer and then a rather generic bass patch on my Kempper Amp. Not really anything special, but I love how it sounds too ;)
Super rocked out tune! Blazing hot guitars and stellar vocal. I do love the sentiment. We’re surely entering the end times, and all we can do is affect the circle around us, however big or small that circle may be.
Loving those guitars and Hellie's soaring vocals float above them perfectly. I would argue that it's the big picture things do very little and the only real recourse are the small things, the daily interactions and help we give people, no matter how different we are to each other.
Loving the bass guitar, loving the title and the 'bridge' and the overall sentiment but mostly loving guitars and the vocal.
This is raw energy! I really enjoyed the build in the bridge. To more rebellious acts of kindness
I like the title and the lightning start - oooh a beatles start line! This is real Rocking - your original loud n proud. good lines now etched in my brain! very very cool!
Nice loud energy on this one. Great guitars and vocals!
Crikey. Those guitars sound superb ... and that dirty bass and those hard drums. Intense vocal, some very worthy lyrics and a great title. And it got me rocking.
Folks, this rocks. That opening riff reminds me of something, but for the life of me I can't identify it. I know, right? It's me!
So much good advice. So many things we should all be doing on a daily basis. And it's always worth committing random acts of senseless viol- er, kindness.
Love the sentiment - perfect for these times - and the hook/title is fantastic! The music rocks so strong. Great energy in the guitars and driving beat. Awesome vocal delivery - love the breakdown with a suggested list of acts of kindness, nice change up and contrast. Great song!
I love this so hard, can I adopt “rebellious acts of kindness” as a personal motto in these cursed days of empathy and fellow humans being devalued?! You two knocked this rocking anthem out of the park. I especially loved taking it down low at the bridge. Everything else about the production, A+
Rocking goodness! Thoroughly enjoyed this listening experience :)
The epitome of softness in a kickass shell. Such great words delivered in a rebel yell.
I love this! And for what it's worth, "Keep it local; keep it small / ‘cause little actions can have a wider impact" is absolutely how Minneapolis has been operating under ICE occupation, and it's proven very true!
I am here for rebellious acts of kindness. This is an 80s hard rock sort of song with the uplifting message we all need these days.
I like the specificity of these rebellious acts of kindness and the energy of the music. For me it was a reflection on how sometimes giving myself permission to not have the energy to do some big thing is enough to get me recharged. This song feels like recharging in a bottle. Great collaboration.
