Lyrics

(cinnamon)

let’s take a trip to cali, we can surf in your king-sized bed your words cannot disguise what your eyes have already said

and you can take a picture but it won’t last longer than what’s in your head but how you thinking when your mind’s covered in kisses in my shade of red

i know just what it takes for you to let me in so bet on my game i can guarantee that it’s a win win win i’m on the precipice i linger on the tip of your tongue like the after taste of cinnamon of cinnamon

like cinnamon like cinnamon

note the sonic change let it echo in your brain and you keep tryna keep up worship me feminine divinity a work of art i'm the birth of venus let me love you with my sea foam touch

i am shiny, i am new i am sad and i am cool i can help you break the heat wave skinny dipping in my pool f**k the rules you can dive into the deep end if you’re good, i’ll even let you bring your best friend

(well maybe, i’ll guess we’ll see)

(cinnamon)

i cast a spell on you (cinnamon) because you’re mine to hex (cinnamon) always the first you choose (cinnamon) without a second best my name is on your lips i linger on the tip of your tongue like the after taste of cinnamon

like cinnamon like like cinnamon like cinnamon like like cinnamon like cinnamon like like cinnamon like cinnamon like cinnamon

Beautiful visual sculpture to go along with the pretty and compelling music in the song. Nice work!

Oh what sound candy! Will listen again with headphones. This is so fresh and so well put together, love it!

[pic]

definitely recommend listening with headphones for full experience! thank you so much!

Really lovely and weird ... love that retro organ and the whispery vocal. "We can surf in your king-sized bed" a great line!

[pic]

ah thank you! i really wanted to incorporate "california king bed" in the song so i opened with "let's take a trip to cali, we can surf in your king-sized bed. think it works! thanks for commenting and listening :))

YES! This 8-bit sounding twinkle cuts right to the feeling from the first note. After taste of cinnamon... like a memory on the tip of your tongue that you almost can reach but can't quite grasp. All the Google in the world can't get us to that search in our soul of a connection we are trying to recall. Venus and Seafoam: the lyric's seduction is really visceral. Great work

[pic]

i love this comment! i was really proud of the venus and seafoam lyrics and i'm so glad someone picked up on it. i knew i wanted to incorporate that imagery so finding the right lyrics to fit it required some piecing together. thank you so much for stopping by, listening, and commenting! this made my morning :))

What a cool soundscape created! Good contrast between the sprechstimme of the verse and the singing in the chorus too.

[pic]

thank you!! what a fun word (sprechstimme) but totally what's happening.

[pic]

Are you programming all of the music or playing live? Either way, genius. What a fab trip-hop vibe....phenomenal.

[pic]

thank you so much! i play all of the music on my keyboard into garageband versus creating or drawing midi notes

[pic]

a fellow garagebander! cool!

So cute. You are very talented. Following

Spooky! Nice effects on the vocals, and a beautiful voice!

I hope you don't mind compliments by way of comparison, but it's like Lana if she were even more playful than she is severe. Cool vocoder effect at the end. Favorite line: "and you can take a picture but it won’t last longer than what’s in your head"

[pic]

Great sultry/sexy vibe -- some great internal rhymes and cadence in these lines, "how you thinking when your mind’s covered in kisses" is a fave. You walk a fine line between vulnerability and swagger, part of me wants to hear this cleaned up and delivered with a little more confidence and polish but I don't know if it would keep it's charm. This is great pop. Great write!

[pic]

Ooh, very satisfying composition! I am digging it. The rhythm of the spoken lyrics balances beautifully with the rest of the track, and the sung lines have a smooth and appealing melody. "Cinnamon" is full of good ideas!

[pic]

The whole song is mwah chef’s kiss— but that ending is marvelous! Superb textures!

[pic]

I'd say this is an experiment that worked out pretty well. The melodic chorus is gorgeous. Also love how the ending slows down and falls apart after a climax, it's almost like a musical illustration of, erm, the stuff hinted at in the lyrics.

[pic]

Atmospheric and captivating. Love the synth effect and rhythm, vocals and lyrics work together so well. Great writing!

[pic]

thank you so much!

[pic]

the instrumentation on this is a lot of fun… searching for the words to describe the vibe. deceptively cutesy? i dunno, but the thumb piano or whatever on top of the organ pads and ambiguous drums really match the narrative and creepy/seductive delivery. welcome to FAWM!

[pic]

thank you for the warm welcome! this was sonically experimental for me and i'm glad to hear you picking up on the vibe that's hard to pin down. appreciate you! :))

[pic]

The storyline in your opening verses pulled me right in. "Taste" is one of the five senses I often struggle to get into my songs and you knocked it out of the park with cinnamon as powerful metaphor. I love the unexpected and delightful turns in your melodies throughout bringing my ear to a happy place each and every time. Your production chops just knock me out. So good.

[pic]

ooh potential prompt for you before the end of the month to make a song using the "taste" sense??? thank you for the kind comment! production is something i've really tried to build muscle in this last year! appreciate the listen :))

[pic]

Very alluring and, indeed, mysterious. This creates quite an atmosphere. The word cinnamon repeated makes it sound exotic. Vocoder helps there too.

[pic]

i feel that because by the end of the song cinnamon didn't sound like a real word to me! that happens though... thanks for listening!

[pic]

I'm still a huge fan of your captivating voice! I also love the minimalist instrumentation. You've created a really beautiful atmosphere here! The vocoder is very cool and really adds a nice touch to this track. The ending with the kick and bass is a beautiful progression of the song.

[pic]

thanks for continuing to listen! i really appreciate you taking the time and to comment as well.

[pic]

Dang. This is really rad. So many cool sounds to get lost in. Loving this alt-pop stuff. My ADD is not bored. Quite a work of art here.

[pic]

wow, thank you so much for the kind comment and for listening!

[pic]

Very cool track, I really like the unsusal dryness of the production, no reverb or delay what I can hear, all the sounds feel supersharp and almost inside my head on headphones. The vocoder is so much fun, great variations there towards the end, and makes the chorus so catchy!

[pic]

it's funny you say this because typically i'm known for too much reverb! but my intention going into this song was to go outside my comfort zone - lean away from the familiar so i overcompensated and went the complete opposite direction. so happy someone picked up on this! thank you! and vocoder forever ♡

[pic]

The vibes on this are immaculate. The lyrics are fire, and oh my goodness the ending of this just elevates it to an ever higher level. Keep it up this rocks!

[pic]

ahhh what a wonderful comment :)) thank you so much! i'll do my best to keep delivering!

[pic]

Ooooo!! I would love to hear a version of this with expanded production– with more synths, drums and FX. I want more! Also, one of my favorite things is when an artist references their own name in a song. Great work! ✨

[pic]

oooh yes maybe if i have time before the end of the month i will! this was my first self-reference but it felt right in such a fun/silly and experimental song. thanks for the listen!
