About Me First things first, no AI in my stuff.

Second things second, sometime around 1993, when I was probably 11, my mom sat me down in the living room and said "we're going to listen to the White album". Sitting in the floor and sorting through my parents' vinyl records is where I learned to love music. Hearing the White album for the first time is when I wanted to learn how to play it, and more importantly, write it. So they got me a cheap little half-size acoustic guitar, and then not long after, a cheap electric. I wrote a terrible song about dinosaurs and I was hooked.

I started my first band with some friends I knew from church when I was about 13 years old, and have been writing originals ever since. We recorded that early stuff on one of those handheld cassette decks that you'd see everywhere in the 90s. I wish I still had those tapes. The only real musical training I have was from the high-school marching band, where I was a drummer, and I can play a kit at a passable level. I know how to fumble around on a piano, but hell if I know what notes I'm playing. I don't read music.

I've done guitar/bass/vocals in a handful of extremely local cover bands. Bar bands. That was fun, and I have mad respect for all the hard-working folks who can live that life, but these days I'm "retired" from gigging and I have been able to spend the last couple of years focusing a lot more on my stuff. Plus, you know, daytime adult job and what-not. I am beyond pleased to have found this community. It's a much needed reminder that there is still a lot of beauty in the world, if you know where to look.

FAWM Goals Commit to getting it done. My intention is to write demos that I can later work into full tracks.
