Nice opening chord! "Lovesick homing pigeon" is great line, a double pull, infatuation and instinct in one. I also love the image of a lover having you surrounded. Classy melody too!

The way you play with the lyric cadence in the first stanza alone is worth the listen, then the backing doooos hit after the first line of the chorus and I need offer no more superlatives. I'd have kept this one in my back pocket until Valentine's Day in case I didn't come up with another love song, because this one is a bouquet.

Oh man days like that are the very worst! I am totally digging the melodic twists and turns. I could talk for days about the bridge, but I will keep it short and just say how much I love the melodic shift, the rapid fire pace of the lyrics, the LYRICS!, and how beautifully the last line transitions from dense intensity to a lightness by the end. Like how thinking of your FAWM-tolerant wife (I love this) brought you out of the storm of technical gremlins. Love the response with the backing vocals in the chorus. This is such a songwriter song which makes me love it even more. As always awesome guitar and vocals.

The delivery of "trigonometry" is an all time. We should also compare notes about guitar tones sometime.

Don't beat yourself up, I have zero completed songs myself at this point... I have written A/B/C sections for probably a total of 7 songs now (some might be missing a C... or a D), but about four lines of lyrics, none of which go together.

This is anything but boring - fantastic vocal, and I especially how enjoy the ‘homing pigeon’ reference, it creates a beautiful picture, saying so much about how you feel without having to say much at all

Speaking of which this is a belter - macrobiotics and trigonometry must be a unique coupling. Some nice guitar flourishes decorating the final chorus. Great start - as usual looking forward to more.

Stunning. A song about writer's block (sort of) that develops into anything but and proves to be a love song full of ideas and turns of phrase. Certainly not boring. The domestic humour and interesting chord progressions remind me a little about some of my favourite British bands like 10cc and City Boy.

So many things I love about this song, David....in no particular order: (1) that ridiculous line about the homing pigeon and having the nerve to close your rhyme with "who" (2) that line about macrobiotics and trigonometry (3) the rhyme scheme/chord progression in your verses - the combined resolution is immensely satisfying (4) the utter sweetness of this song.

Absolutely delightful. I love a song that interrogates itself and leaves room for the listener to supply the blindingly obvious answer, and this does so with such a beautiful down beat wit and charm you can't help but grin. I especially adore the placement of "who" at the end of the pigeon line and the patient knowingness of the BV lines. Oh and the killer chord for me is that Em9. It's a real mood. A bluesy funk that takes both the G and then that extra 9th on the Gm to escape from (albeit temporarily). Love it.

the most ridiculous title for a Taro song - was never going to be boring! What a lovely song, its the attention to every detail that is so amazing! well to me, i guess for some its just that its a darn good song. Your shift from light to dark and fast to slow is amazing.

This is so well crafted, of course it is. A song within a song, made me laugh and sigh. The emotion in your voice sold it as a secret love song, hiding in plain sight. So good

dont let paul hear it or he will assemble a new line up for wings and run with it. i love your singing here, especialy when you go high in the second half of the verse. this is truly a musical tour de force i like the way the song reflects on itself, as when you list a few mundane activites and follow it with the feeling that you should not be so mundane, most of all, i like your feeling that there is no reason to write about anything except love songs for your wife.
