MY CENSORED FORUM POST ("Hearted" by one Moderator--then censored/locked by another):
FAWM and "50 Songs In 90 Days" have been possibly the most positive and influential events of my life (not counting kids/grandkids). I know I am not alone in stating that they were life-changing. Literally life-changing--in an extremely positive way.
I'm redoing my Will (Lordy, I'm getting old) and plan on leaving several thousand dollars to the FAWM organization if that is doable, and would be interested in hearing from a moderator about how that needs to be done. I have to think there are a handful of others who would be interested in doing the same. (And I would love to hear in the Comments below of other music-related charities of interest. Guitarsforkids.org comes to mind).
I pity the next generation if they don't have the kind of motivator that 50/90 was for me and so many others.
We have been told--and I get it--that it's just gotten "overwhelming", etc. Math nerd that I am, I've always assumed that what got overwhelming was mostly the "coding" involved in a large and complicated website like this--and our reliance on only a couple of coders who have been laboring every year to get us up and running.
But that has changed. That coding shouldn't take more than half a day now. (GOOGLE "Claude Code" and GOOGLE literally "how long does it take claude code to duplicate a complicated website?")
And now is a good time to interject: Take everything I say with an entire salt mine's tonnage of salt. I'm not a coder myself--but I HAVE tried to keep up with AI and its effect on coding. In no way do I want to minimize the incredible effort that our Founding Coders put in to make FAWM what it is and what has so impacted my life positively.
But now...I think it might be easier to take some of the overwhelming coding effort and...delegate that to others. We're not so reliant on a couple of coders. We could hire updates at a reasonable cost. Please discuss.
