FAQS: What's your problem? Good question. The freshspotlessyouth collective is a ragtag bunch of dabblers, dilettantes, and dillydalliers, all housed in one body. We will cosplay any number of musical roles, with unpredictable results.

How do you feel about collaborating? I've done a number of fruitful collabs over the years. I will collaborate with anyone who can tolerate my louche approach to music making.

Any truth to the rumors that you'll be playing the drums the month? In a manner of speaking. Someone gave me an electronic drum set a few years ago. I just realized that I could plug it into the USB port of my computer. I'll bash away, hoping I'm close enough to quantize. Should be fun.

cassandras train started as a song about a train journey from montreal to vancouver for the worlds fair, then jumped ahead in time to a birthday weekend in salem massachusettes. then i bookeneded these excursions with a girlfriend from the mid to late 80's with some snapshots of myself as a one-eyed widower in the present day

that is the problem with liner notes..and why i hesitate to write them.. people will comment on the notes, not the song. and more often than not, get it wrong. yes, i see it now. you make a strong case against the non-poet adapting the metaphors of a poet with that woman as rose bit. usually i am so enamored with the sound your words coming though your melody and voice that i dont focus much on the sense of what you are saying outside of the general idea as is often expressed in the title. i enjoy the musicality of the words more than i care about what they mean....not just in your songs but in my own as well. i just want everything to sound good.

i missed out on a lot of concerts because i was a snob who refused to go to arena shows. and i was so resistant to all those singer songwriters of the 70's that i missed out on a lot of songs that today i adore. i trust you have had a good year and there are more songs ready to tumble out of you this february. your songs are always a fawm highlight for me.
