Hello all my 2026 friends, old and new! Lucky number 13 for me. That’s 339 days of FAWM so far. You’d think I wouldn’t be nervous anymore, but you’d be wrong.

thank your for your comments on five years of tides. actually the main location of the song is the beach, not the sea. it is the sea that comes in and buries the treasure of the sands, but it is the moon accomplishing this, not neptune, who is busy out at sea either protecting or destroying sailors.

I appreciate your comments on the two songs I've been able to muster so far this month, Jon! Hey Jonah came pretty quickly after setting aside another song that was giving me some trouble. It's funny how that's the penultimate children's Bible story (Jonah and the Whale!!), and yet it carries such a deep message of the importance of obedience and how God's grace and mercy are so far above our human pettiness. God is With Us came from my experience at Iona, which was pretty profound, and all the more as I've had time to process it. People talk about "thin places" and Iona is definitely one of those. But for me, that thin place can also be sitting in my recliner in Madison looking out at my lovely back yard. I imagine, you've found those places wandering the beautiful fields, vineyards, and distant mountains on your walks with Mr. Collie (who I hope will make a return appearance at FAWM this year!)☺️.
