This is a song about a cupcake. Cupcakes have very little actual nutritional value. Some people want to eat cupcakes all the time; some people think cupcakes are the future. This is what I imagine would happen if a cupcake became sentient, saw the ill health effects it had on the population, and decided to go live its best life somewhere far away from the cupcake pushers, prostelytizers, and people who don't know better.

Why it came out as me doing my best worst Tom Petty impression, we may never know.

I feel bad for Al, poor fellow. At first I thought this was about an AI cupcake, as in artificial intelligence- love the folksy feel of this on. Very catchy!❤️😊

I love, love, love this in all kinds of ways. Oh the lyrics, oh the cupcakes. Makes me want 'em even more, but only if they don't have eggs, milk, artificial flavor, and I'm okay either way on oatmeal and raisins. My wife and I used to joke that a close relatives best friends were named Nick and Al. I can definitely hear one of the Gainesville natives singing this in my head, The vocal delivery phrasing style is like a well traveled lost wildflower.

I love how effortlessly you can take a simple conversation from Slack and turn it into a cool song that's both full of biting insight and crammed with catchy hooks. And you keep doing it! I love this one (even if the site's choice of a serif font for the title kinda hides the joke...)

Beautiful! ...and Educational. I feel I should control my snacking more. I really like the way you add a little harmony at the end of some lines. Very effective. Also the interesting timing in the chorus...that's maybe z bit Petty-ish as well. Thanks!

It’s nice that Al saw the writing on the wall and saw himself out. How realistic is it that cupcakes will become sentient and do so….hmmm. Musically I really enjoyed getting down to the roots and vibing to those sweet sweet harmonies

I would never eat Al the cupcake as gloriously delicious as he looks... he is not as yummy as he is perceived to be! Wishing all the Als pick up their suitcases and say "see you later!" Love the ooooo background vocals too! What a deliciously original tune!

This is life changing! I feel like I will be singing this in my head for the rest of my life lol. The rhymes are great & i love the whole concept of a song sort of dealing with the topic of public health but in the form of fantastical world building of the living cupcake.

This is a TRIUMPH, friend - lyrics, vocals, instrumentation are all on point. I cannot get over buttercream dopamine - that is one HELL of a lyric and I hope you are sitting there grinning to yourself about how clever you are because I absolutely would be.
