Sounds like fun! Are you on discord? That's probably the easiest for me, I'm luxuryenby on there. If not, I guess send me your email! I'll be out all day tomorrow but I'll have plenty of time today & the days after tomorrow to kick around ideas
Looking at your studio pic...you are getting some seriously good sounds out of that small DAWless setup. I've also been wanting to find a drum set that is very small, not too loud, and doesn't sound like total trash - apparently I should look at the KickBoxx.
Thank you!! Yeah I'm definitely taking the hard road with this modest, old-school studio setup, not to mention additional self-challenges like using a tuning fork instead of an electric tuner in pursuit of music creativity that is maximally kinesthetic & low tech. In my younger days, I used FL Studio, various sample packs & VSTs, & was creative via the sequencer, but I have effectively rewired my brain towards making music in real time with physical instruments & all, & the DAWless constraints make structural decisions & such much weightier, as the hassle of editing is much higher than it would otherwise be & I don't really have the liberty to patch up weaknesses with effects & such. But as I spend more time working in this way, I get better at getting the most juice out of the studio, & also build up better instincts about what types of sounds & feats of instrumentalism I can pull off, which makes it more feasible to plunge forward into an elaborate composition knowing I'll make it through in one piece. & the constraints are good not only for getting me in the right headspace for music, but also I think good for my art, like using resistance bands to build muscle or something lol. & yes I would highly recommend the KickBoxx!!!!
Awesome looking setup you’ve got there, particularly intrigued by your drum kit. Looks like fun!
Oh yeah the Kickboxx! I love this thing. When I was shopping around for a drumkit I was concerned about excessive space footprint, excessive cost, & excessive loudness, & the kickboxx takes care of all three problems while still sounding great as a studio kit. The fact that I have one kick, one snare, one tom, & one cymbal also meshes well with the less produced more garagey sound I do. Also the whole thing (minus the hi hat) disassembles easily & the snare, tom, & kick pedal can be stored inside the suitcase-style kick drum body so that I can carry it upstairs to play along with my big sound system when I want to! Zero complaints with this thing, it suits my needs perfectly.
I think i need a kickboxx! That sounds really cool and it would be ideal for my tiny studio space.
Hello! Just saying hi from the queer thread! Looking forward to hearing all of your songs <3

Thank you & same to you!
Any interest in a collab? I can do backing vocals, bass, telecaster, drums, synth, attitude, noise, atmosphere, joy...I'm interested in what kind of lofi ramshackle thing we could cobble together.
