I like the way the piano sits in the middle of a billowing cloud of synths. Ethereal. Lyrics crisp and concise. Melancholy mellowness!

Stitzer, Wisconsin, population 80. Alexandria, Nebraska, population 360. Hamburg, Iowa, population 2600. FINALLY--Omaha, Nebraska. And before Stitzer, there were a couple of tiny North Dakota towns I lived in as a baby/toddler. Been there, my friend. Great song!! ❤️

I see that others who have listened to your piece have experienced small towns. Me too! I've even lived between small towns. Although I now live in a smaller city, I can't say that I regret my upbringing in the small spaces.

As I have often told you, you have a wonderful sense of what music will fit with your spoken-word creations. The same holds true for this one.

And it's also difficult for me to say, that it was all bad... So, I'm somewhere in the middle on my upbringing. 🙂

I started living between small towns when I was six. The concession road next to our property divided the school districts. My school was a mile down the main highway and there was no bus. It was a one-room school with eight grades.

My neighbours across the concession road got bus service to their school, five miles in the other direction. My mom negotiated with the other school board to let me go to their school on the bus for grade two and onward. Much better, especially in the depth of winter!

I lived in a small town for four years. Never again! I can relate to a lot of your lyrics here! I really like the liquid-y shimmery synths above, they add to the contemplative atmosphere of this song.
