Yeah, Well That's Just, Like, Your Opinion, Man
Liner Notes
My final #MovieQuote track this month is from the Coen Brothers' deliciously dark comedy, The Big Lebowski (1998), spoken by The Dude himself, Jeff Bridges.
For me, the funniest thing about The Big Lebowski is a Hollywood in-joke that's never explicitly addressed in the film: John Goodman's character Walter is a spot-on portrayal of the testosterone-fuelled film director, producer, and scriptwriter John Milius.
.
I might love playing #guitars but I'm a #synth nerd at heart. This one features Serum 2, Dexed, Pendulate, Heavyocity's Natural Forces, NI's Bazzazian Tapes, NI Rise & Hit, and a lot of Korg M3. It's kind of a #prog take on #reggae, and my "Geddy Lee" signature Fender Jazz bass is in the driver's seat (as always).

great bass line jumps out at you and those swirling synths are full of energy. Nice change into those guitars as well! good track
K before I’ve even hit play, I’m a super fan just from the title… here we go… great bass tone and playing. Add a sax and this has the feel of everything I love about Weather Report - except this holds its own even without sax. The shakies were an especially nice touch toward the end.
One of my favourite films, so here we go... Awesome bass work, as usual. Nice flowing synths in my headphones. This song has a lot of low-key swagger, much like Jeff. This song really tied the room together.
There's a very mysterious vibe running through this song, which I quite like. I think you've successfully integrated all the various synths you used and you've come up with a strong groove. I can definitely see/hear the prog take on reggae you were going for. Also love the Geddy Lee bass work. Great job on this. (Also, The Big Lebowski is one of my favorite movies. Every time I watch it, I catch something else hilarious that I'd glossed over in earlier viewings).
Love how this one grooves along. The long, drawn out melody lines will weave their hooks into your ears.
One of my all time favourite movies, and a very enjoyable listen to boot. Don't know if you know Julia Philips book You'll never eat lunch in this town again, but it's a gripping read about the industry in th 1970s. Really enjoyed this listen btw
Synth/prog/reggae, a combination I never knew I needed until now, that "Geddy Lee" sure sounds like its in charge throughout, love it
Not convinced it’s reggae but it’s both gooey and groovy for certain. Love the guitar coming in midway.
Cool as The Dude himself! I like this sizzly prog-tastic vibe. My fave is the bass - the tone and how it punctuates everything. I wasn’t aware of that bit of trivia either; that must have made making the film so much more fun for all of them. Sad the movie quotes series is about to conclude!
I have that same Jazz bass... Geddy Lee FTW!
Man, the synths are just gooey with delicious texture on this track... Keep up the good work!
Prog reggae. I totally get it. Something only you could pull off with this array of lucious tones. I know I should be admiring the synths, but that guitar at the halway point is just👌 It really ties the song together. Ahem. 🤣
Such a greatness. Nice bass and athmosphere here.
