A song of empathy

Liner Notes

Similar to my collaboration with Sapient, this is a song about trying to keep going even when the world seems to be on fire and bad things seem inevitable. One take phone recording, although it took me about 10 takes to get it close enough to right, and the first time I did, I hadn't realised there was an audiobook playing on my phone (volume was off, but audio recorder picked up John Le Carré just as loudly as it picked up my playing).

I really like the tone of empowerment and togetherness on this song. Empathy does seem to be a rarity these days and certainly out of favor, but your song certainly is a called action and togetherness. Very well done!

Truth in these lyrics! Empathy is foundational. And community makes everything better, which IMO a lot of these lyrics indirectly speak to.

This feeling of powerlessness is so familiar right now. I really like how the chorus starts on such a high note that is filled with hope and contrasts with the more uncertain, lower verses. Wonderful one take (even after the audiobook take)!

Beautiful song and lyrical depth speaking to this bleak world. I really enjoyed the way the melody jumped in the chorus. Yes please to more empathy towards our fellow humans

I feel this way. All we can do try to make a difference where we are and stand up for what we believe in. But yeah, I can't watch the news. It's way too depressing. Beautiful song with a great message. It's very sing-along-able.
