So, today (Jan 28) my dad passed away. Many of you know him as @srcoops. He has had a tremendous life, had a tremendous impact, and leaves a tremendous legacy. I am sad, but grateful. It is an experience of loss, but also of love, support, connectedness, and peace for me. I have been influenced, guided, and inspired by my father. I’m sure that will all come out in my music this year.

I play what sounds good to me. FAWM is fun because I have complete control, for better or for worse. My goals this year are to improve on my mic choice and placement, mixing/eq-ing, and hopefully encourage as many of the people around me to be a part of FAWM to any degree, including my wife and two sons, if possible. I also would enjoy collaborating again with my brother, @zecoop (thank you for getting me into this), as well as others who are interested. Writing a song or two with my sons would be great! In terms of songwriting, I tend to be very chordy and would like to give my songs some more space for layering of sounds and texture.

I truly admire the creativity in others and am energized when I am fortunate to have a spark myself, too. I also do appreciate collaborations and will do whatever I have time for.

*A note about collabs: If someone wants to collab on a song that I've posted, I am fine with that and will post it separately. I also am fine with multiple people doing the same song, as I find it fascinating to see how different people do very different things with the same music. My wife always gets the first choices on songs, of course.

I am so very sorry for your heart, I just heard today and I thank you and John for sharing your dad with us and I hope you can find solace in FAWM.

[pic]

Oh thank you very much. He really enjoyed all of you!

So sorry to read about your dad. It would have been my dad's 88th birthday yesterday, so this resonates quite strongly. Thinking of you all and sending you my very best wishes.

[pic]

Thank you very much. All things considered, it was about the most peaceful ending, which is helpful.

@beej

how am I feeling? Exhilarated, unprepared, short on time, ready as I can be!

Hahaha! Well, that’s about right.

So sorry to hear the news. I thought of your dad and the collabs we did together many times this year. What a lovely man he was. Manhug! I'll be playing this one on the speakers today: https://srcoops.bandcamp.com/album/2024

Oh thank you beej! We appreciate your support

My condolences, sad to hear about your dad, hope you’ll get time to make some music in the midst of dealing with the practical and emotional part of saying goodbye to a loved one. doing the video challenges with you twice in a row has been a highlight the last two FAWMs, getting to collaborate with you in some way

[pic]

Oh thank you very much. I appreciate you reaching out. Let's try to maximize the collab this year! I would love that--as long as I can keep up with you.

guatecoop, I am very sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. I know how that feels as I lost my Mom on Jan 14, 2026. I had the privilege of collaborating with your Dad here at FAWM a couple of years ago. You are in my thoughts.

And I wish you a lovely FAWM!

Good morning from Spain, I just logged in for the first time since last year and the first thing I did was check your profile.

To the news of your father, my condolences... But more than that, my love and appreciation to his memory.

Both indirectly (via his children and their presence here) and directly (his songs he shared, his time for hearing and reading my words when I added lyrics and vocals to your tracks... He left beautiful music and Feedback for us as a community) your dad had brought me, and many other here, many moments of joy, appreciation, and beautiful human connection.

I send a big hug to all the Coops.

Hello and happy FAWM!

[pic]

Hey there! Crazy that I was just thinking about how we kind of operate in circles around each other but don’t really have any experience connecting. I really appreciate what you always are doing. Thanks for the greeting!

Howdy and Happy Fawming from Lakewood!

waves Didn't expect to come across someone so close, especially with less than a hundred people on line so far!

[pic]

What?!? In Lakewood?!? Since 2013?!? That is completely unexpected and fantastic. I’ve been operating like I was alone around here unless I had FAWM guests over from somewhere else forever. Well, it’s a pleasure to hear from you! I lived in Lakewood and Cleveland for a long time before but now am in Lorain.

I'm in the area quite a lot, have done DJ work etc ..also an ex GF from Lorain, but uh... the less said and so forth.
