I Might Be Sad Forever

Challenge: SAWTOOTH MELODYLiner Notes
Getting a little experimental for number 14, because why not? Decided to have a go at doing a song with just bass and vocals, and once I got my head around what the Sawtooth challenge actually is I've managed to sneak it in just under the line.
Aaand lyrically, it's another breakup song. Slowly draining the abscess on this one. Very slowly.
Lyrics
I’ve missed you for longer than I knew you You’d think that I’d have moved on by now I know for certain that you stopped loving me And I’d like to stop, too, but I don’t know how
And I might be sad forever about you I might be sad forever about you I might be sad forever about you I might be sad forever about you
I wish I could call you and ask for the secrets Of how you stopped feeling how you used to feel And I’ve spent years impatiently waiting For time, ‘cause it promised me that it would heal
But I might be sad forever about you I might be sad forever about you I might be sad forever about you I might be sad forever about you

Wow, that sparseness is really something. I love that you went the "only bass" direction as far as instrumentation goes because it really allows your vocals--in particular those harmonies--to shine. This is heartwrenchingly beautiful. Excellent job.
Oh, my goodness, what an intensely beautiful song about grief. Those harmonies seemed to represent all these different parts of the singer’s self swirling around the memory of this other person.
The combination of these beautiful, harmonic vocals with that slow rumbling bass is way more awesome than I imagined. And the echo! Wow! Well done.
That first line is incredible. I like the sparse melancholy of the arrangement.
You are a winner. Congrats on 14. Just beauty singing a strong melody and those tasty harmonies ..Just wonderful.
Congrats on 14! This is lovely, and the depth of the bass in contrast with your sparkling vocals works really well for the subject matter. Those harmonies are stunning. Grief is a beast, and it's not linear, and draining it slowly is sometimes the only way to approach it. 💜
The simple bass accompaniment is so incredibly perfect and understated here. I like how it kind of pulses sometimes. It really helps to showcase the vocals and lyrics. Your gorgeous voice is cutting right to my heart. It's so beautiful. Hugs...heartbreak is not something that just goes away, even with time
Oooh really pretty vocals and melody. And effective lyrics too!
really cool accompaniment to almost accapella song. suits the sadness very well.
