For the past several years now I’ve ended up kicking off FAWM with a song about how I’m feeling now. A couple years ago, after coming out, that was a cheerful positive song titled “It’s me, hello” with handclaps and bubbly synths. This one is “I’m not going away and I’m done being demure about it”, and it’s quite a bit louder.

Thank you!! The BG vocals definitely deviated from the typical SoCal vibe but I dunno I just thought they were a fun addition. I still kept it punk enough by not autotuning or time aligning anything 🤪

Haha I’m so happy I got that in, that was inspired by a years-old tweet saying something like “every day haters are getting mad at me for existing, and every day I keep taking estrogen and getting hotter” and it’s always stuck with me 😂

Honestly I got so lucky, I decided what the hell I’ll record these lyrics at 12:45 AM, and then the next day I was so sick and my voice was completely shot! Hope you’re feeling better now too 💜

I wish I could relive my high school years and listen to albums of your music on repeat lol. This has such an awesome pop punk 2000s sound. And it starts right off the word fuck which is my kryptonite lyric. Never met a song that was not enhanced by saying fuck. Solid start really love this liberated vibe. 🎉 It's also just really catchy!
