Edit to add recording info: Lots of people enjoying the recording quality, so here is how I have been recording and processing my audio afterward. Out of pure laziness, all vocals and guitar (for probably every fawm song this year) are recorded using my shure SM7dB mic, through UA Volt interface, into Ableton. I throw RX Spectral De-noise on vocal and guitar to drop the noise floor even more, and I use Nectar 4 as my entire vocal chain. Lastly, I have been using Ozone on my master track and adjusting the maximizer and "upward compression" for a quick master to ensure the recording is at a decent/competitive volume.

Great dynamic contrast between verses and choruses - the combination of the more strident vocal delivery and the lovely harmony line really opens it up (so impressive given it’s essentially you and an acoustic guitar). Completely agree on the sentiment, the ‘deceived into believing it was our choice’ is awesome, and I love how you give it the prominence of being the lead into the chorus. Love this one Katie!

Agree with the sentiments of this song absolutely and have written frequently about it. Great song. This world is rammed to the gunnels with conforming non-conformists, if they had an original thought it would die of loneliness.

So good. What a voice! The chorus harmonies are giving all the best pop music feels (Taylor Swift comes to mind a little, not fully). Can imagine a big production for this one that would work equally well

Holy production value, batman. This just shines! I don't want to get caught up in the superficial aspects of how this sounds... But it just sounds so good! The vocal delivery is simply pristine, and kudos to your recording!

Now, the song is equally deserving of praise. The little alternating picked strings are the perfect precursor to a quiet and beautiful melody that sounds almost lullaby-esque. At this point, I love how the lyrics - at first vague - quickly resolve into something more dire. Then into that hard-hitting chorus. It's just masterful.

Such a gratifying listen, wrapped around a great lyrical theme. Watchlisted!

OMG, Katie, this is superb! So, i read your lyrics first and thought, yeah, these are cool with a great message but how is she gonna work all of these into a nice melody? Then I started listening and thoroughly enjoying verse 1! Appreciating your lyrical message and the lovely way you phrase everything. And then, your chorus hit me like a train! I mean, WOW, it is rare to hear such a lift so beautiful and instantly memorable and sing-a-long-able! Your vocals on the chorus just soar! I recall feeling this way about the music of Alanis Morissette back in the day! Yeah, this is That Good! You are the Master and this is Stunning! Thank you for sharing!!

Sounds really good. The vocal performance is great and the harmonies really hit the mark. Lyrics also heavily resonate with current times. Everything seems to be aiming to divide the people and focus on differences. A great song.

Stunning vocal performance. Love the contrast between the verses and chorus, sets the mood for the song! Soft and bittersweet yet angsty all at once! Really captured everything you were talking about in the song.
