Frozen Lonesome is the music and video project of Steve Raizen. I make ambient string-fuzz, astral funk, and generally pleasing electronic noise. I wish everyone a happy and creative FAWM!
I have participated in FAWM every year since 2014. I will be traveling for most of February and will attempt to tracks when I can. Unfortunately, I will not be as active listening and commenting as in previous years. I get home early March and will endeavour to listen to as many tracks as possible before the site goes dark.
I started about a week early with brand new tracks and videos and used source material from Tales of The Wizard Of Oz. A trippy cartoon from 1961 that aired during lunch time on local television when I was a kid. https://archive.org/details/rankinbassoz
Headphones recommended for maximum enjoyment!

Sell The Sizzle! My 2025 FAWM album. https://frozen-lonesome.bandcamp.com/album/sell-the-sizzle-fawm2025.The album theme was taken from vintage sales training and sales films. All of the audio samples were taken from public domain sources on archive.org.

In the last few months, I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with my photographer friend Jon Butler to provide music for slideshows of his fabulous photography and photomontages (no A.I.) of the La Cloche area in Ontario Canada. https://www.JonButler.ca

Yeah go there-have a mini freak out!
Thanks for checking out my Bandcamp! I'm a bit delayed this year but I will indeed be joining the FAWM fun soon.
Cuing up your Bandcamp now...
Happy FAWMing again, friend! Just wishing you another productive February, and I'll be treating your work the same as I did last year: saving it all for the end. There are a few Fawmers who have enough of a vision and consistency to make me wait and hear the whole thing, front to back, and you're among them. I'm excited to hear what you've been working on this year!
Best wishes and cheers and all that!
Aw Steve…did your Grandma influence you musically or otherwise? My Gran Willow once won a CBC contest for a song she randomly wrote called the Boy in Blue when she was young, but sadly I never heard it….and not sure she ever did music after that, but her eldest son (my Dad) became a beautiful pianist and keyboardist and occasional flute player.
Congrats to your Gran!
My grandma was a big influence on me as a kid, cause I went to elementary school and grade 7 near her apartment and would go there for lunch often. No one in my direct family was musical in terms of playing any instrument, but my parents enjoyed going to classical concerts. I have always been a collector of music since the 8 tracks days and my mom’s cousin who lived in L.A. once sent me bunch of psychedelic records in my early teens like The Hooked and The Strawberry Alarm Clock and that was influential. Personally I didn’t start creating any of my own music until a year or so before I joined FAWM. I did front a punk n’ roll cover band as the vocal stylist for a few years before that.
Very nice! Beautiful and Meditative.
Thanks for listening and your positive thoughts!

Hi! Just saw your comment in the Century Club forum thread about hoping the website will stay open for a couple weeks in March for catching up on commenting, so just wanted to confirm that the website will be open until it returns to hibernation on March 15 :) https://help.fawm.org/challenge/quickstart/?h=march
