A Cardboard Boat

Lyrics
I grabbed my sword off the floor and walked out the door toward the old candy store I ate more and more then stopped and hopped aboard a cardboard boat and sailed north from the shore
I used the sword as a paddle and rattled the fish in the water before the cardboard absorbed the water
I sank below the surface and as I plunged downward I saw all the other folk who had drowned aboard their cardboard boats

Yup herd mentality exists and people don,t learn! Nice more gentle guitar! carries this along!
This song brings me the longing for the sea! Especialy the melancholic sound of the melodica. Beautiful fingerpickin as so very often! Enjoyed this very much!
Probably not the most interesting remark, but I really enjoyed this song. I don't know if cardboard boat is a common expression or metaphor, but I dug the imagery. In fact, your lyrics were all very evocative of imagery. I also loved your unique sound. K, that's all for now.
Opening reminds me of 50s/60s movies about geisha girls. I thought the movies were scary because of the music - lol! A cardboard boat also sounds scary…
When you mentioned "cardboard", I knew this wouldn't end well...
EXCEPT in the sense that this all inspired a terrific song! Great job on lyrics, vocal and music bed! ❤️
