Don't Look Down

Liner Notes
I've previously written a song with this title on this topic but, well, it wasn't very good, so I had another go. The only thing it has in common is the title and the Coyote Chords of A-Cm-E.
Anyway, I'd done a Roadrunner song so this is a required bit of #ukulele #nerdfolk to go with it.
Lyrics
The chase is on but you're so far behind Hungry and exhausted and you're ready to resign Emerging from the tunnel in the wall Can't afford a stumble when you've got so far to fall
You fear that you are nearing the edge You fumble underfoot to find the ledge
But keep the faith for ever more and take another big step forward And you know your feet won't touch the ground If you don't look down
A fork and knife and stick of dynamite No one can accuse you of retreating from the fight Deflated once again but still unbowed So don't give up, you know that you are going to make us proud
And when you find you're standing at the cliff Be brave and bold, be confident and swift
But keep the faith for ever more and take another big step forward And you know your feet won't touch the ground If you don't look down
And even if it damages your pride When the laws of physics take the other side
Keep the faith for ever more and take another big step forward And you know your feet won't touch the ground If you don't look down
Keep the faith for ever more and take another big step forward And you know your feet won't touch the ground If you don't look down
If you don't look down Don't look down

The Acme made me grin for sure! Really good hookline! Doubling vocals works so well! Very pleasant listen
Your hook line "And you know your feet won't touch the ground/If you don't look down" definitely transcends the story of this song, so it works well on both levels. Funnily enough, for no good reason I jumped a little while listening with headphones when the second voice came in. Not sure why that startled me, the mix is great. ;) Harmonica is perfectly placed. Sounds swell!
I love the chord progression and your harmonies and rhymes. This is a great filk and a great song. I hope someday to hear you perform this in person. :)
That more/forward rhyme is so good. I love the timbre your getting on your instruments. Inventive chord choices too. This really shows how much you've grown as a songwriter over the years.
So good, it's sweet and clever! I love the chorus, both the lyrics and the chorus, it makes me want to sing along. Lovely!
The whole song is fun to listen to. I like the more/forward rhyme.
I feel as if "the laws of physics take the other side" deserves in-depth discussion. ๐
Hehe. The Coyote's worst enemy being the laws of cartoon physics after all :).
I love the switch to E. Eeeeee! The chorus of edwins is quite nice! I mean I know itโs about looney tunes, but the words are quite encouraging for life in general for non-drawn folk
This would make an amazing rally song for the Coyote. (EGAD!) The big vocal harmonies are great and a nice contrast to the verses. ooh harmonica! MEEP MEEP!
Never before seen a chord progression chosen that way. Wonderful companion piece to the roadrunner one posted earlier in this challenge.
