This Is The Way

Liner Notes

Ok, so because I was out all day yesterday, here is the first track. I am not around for the whole of this 5/9, so I'll do as many as I can fit in.

Part of this melody came out of watching a video by Pianote, who I am a great fan of for learning piano. Although the tutorial video was piano only, I've added some layers to make it a bit more cinematic. I haven't watched it yet, but I'm really looking forward to watching the new Mandalorian & Grogu movie and maybe you might hear this kind of music in that kind of movie. I'd like to think so haha!

Used to make this track: Reaper DAW Native Instruments Bazzazian Tapes synth, Choir Omnia, Alicia Keys piano, Ozone 11 for mixing Orchestral Tools Berlin Free Orchestra BBC Symphony Orchestra Horns, Flute, Basses, Timpani, Glockenspeil

I like how you've started out with that backing chorus -- the piano melody is like the stars being placed. Yes, it's definitely cinematic and rich! I like those big booms/crashes that come in later in the track, too. Nicely composed.

This sounds so massive, lovin it! The glockenspeil was a perfect touch. This truly is the way, awesome stuff!

This sounds fantastic. Huge in my headphones ( also isn't Bazzazian tapes a fun library?!)

Love how it slowly gain that drama/intensity and then "discharge" with flute

Sounds great! So very cinematic. Great arrangement and so clean!

This is very definitely deserving of the description "lush" and those french horns are really hitting the spot. I really must use Bazzazian Tapes more; it's got some great sounds, hasn't it?

Yes, I love the sounds....It's the first time I've used Bazzazian tapes! The hardest thing was working out how to spell his name correctly 😁

That is epic! all class, could so easily be theme music to some of the shows i have watched recently! well done

I really like the pace of this piece, Carl as well as the continually changing landscape of orchestral instruments. I worked for a symphony orchestra for the last seven years of my career, so I was imagining seeing my favourite conductor leading the musicians as I sat in the hall.

Really enjoyed this -- esp. love the juxtaposition of the choir and brass/deep drums/flutes into the glockenspeil? at the end. Very rich, consistently interesting music.

Well done Carl. I love what you added to the original piano track. Very mournful and reflective music.

Beautiful work, Carl. This kind of track could definitely be in the movie! This is right up my alley in terms of adventure.

We started watching that movie last night. Didn’t get very far because we were so tired but will try to watch a bit more tonight. I will have my ears peeled - lol! But, yeah, this is very cinematic. So cool!
