Don't ask me where this stuff comes from. The first line appeared and then it took off from there. Also, what is it with me writing in 6/8 during song sprints?

Lyrics

I can't give you what you don't know you need If you don't know what you want you can't get it from me Don't tell me you need me if you can't tell me why I will tell you I still want to love you Don't let this be our goodbye

You can tell me you want me You can tell me you need me You can tell me you love me But tell me tonight

I can tell you I'm sorry but it won't change a thing Tell you I am the winter and you are the spring But seasons change and leaves are falling down Don't let the green grass of autumn Turn into snow on the ground

You can tell me you want me You can tell me you need me You can tell me you love me But tell me tonight

I won't give up on you If you won't give up on me I promise I'll try to do Whatever you tell me you need

You can tell me you want me You can tell me you need me You can tell me you love me But tell me tonight

I'll tell you I want you I'll tell you I need you I'll tell you I love you And I'll tell you tonight

6/8 always has such a nice drive, I mean, it's a great way to get outta the gate! I love those acoustic riffs between phrases. Very tasty! I dig how the words of the chorus are repetitive and yet have one word changes. And then the switchup at the last chorus - very effective lyric!

This would work well with some steels and/or slide!

6/8 for the win when you want some urgency to send those direct lyrics home.

The vocal vibrato on your “need” at 1:56 gives me chills. Diff octave but reminds me of Roy Orbison.

The time sig has really moved you into a different country style. I love the change into the chorus as well its really effective> Its a really good song mate and something a bit different for you to my ear!

Really delighted by the little runs in the guitar part. The words are so universal ... grrr I'm not a mind reader, just tell me what you need!!! Lol

You have captured the essence of a country folk song here. This song could have been written today or anytime in the last hundred years.

I like the guitar pattern and the chorus break. The lyrics offer a philosophical bent that I very much like. Very good.

Nicely done! The verses almost sound a little too happy for the words, but it resolves really well in the chorus.

Great country style love story.

Really nice love song. Sometimes the best way to go is just to work from a line or two that magically appears
