Took today off because I've been feeling burnt out (job, house, life, the world, etc). Came up to the studio with no expectations and this song just came tumbling out.

Just what I needed to hear on a friday evening! It feels relaxing like a grand day out! (My clumsy English got me thinking it was a car crash story: you positively DO need working brakes (and not breaks) when you drive in the moutain. Taught me to trust the ukulele vibe and some English spelling.)

Rhyming "treacherous" and "Everest" = brilliant, and then you hit us with a Sisyphus reference, lovely stuff. Fabulous BVs throughout, they really elevate everything. I enjoyed the mouth trumpet solo more than one should really enjoy mouth trumpet solos 😂 . And then the way the arrangement builds in that final section is majestic. This is such a great tune, your innate musicality shining through...

feeling this. i’m really enjoying hearing some “more produced” carley tunes this year. the strong songwriting really carries it, but all the bgvs, bass, percussion, mouth trumpet, and other ear candy just really just make it a whole other level of joy to listen to! the minor(?) turnaround at “with a little bit of tea and cake” is particularly great. ☕ 🍰

Fantastic - the lyrics work so well with the easy going melody and the theme of having to take a break. Great line "But for now why not quell that ache with a little bit of tea and cake"

Ohhhhh....big breath. It’s great to feel needed Makes you feel complete, but It’s also a treat to walk away-Amen to that! A womans dilemma(speaking for myself) I love the levity with which you deliver a serious message about rest and recuperation, so folks like me can just say, yeah.... This song should be a Public Service Announcement (PSA) in the States for mental health! Love the mouth trumpet! But for now why not quell that ache With a little bit of tea and cake just so happens I'm sitting with a cuppa and a sweet as we speak. :0) Thanks @carleybaer
