Great take on the prompt! This is a really effective approach to describing someone who is a person with a need that no matter how much we try to help this person, they can't simply appreciate the love they have from those around them. I also liked the poor/porous heart wordplay. The line "She lies awake bandaging the holes in her heart." is particularly powerful.

I was interested in how you used porous as things seeping out of the heart instead of things seeping in. I found the song A Hole in the Bucket bouncing along in my brain below this one. That endless hopeless attempt to plug up the holes. Your singing seemed full of tenderness for this doomed Sysyphean task of patching up the porous heart.

The idea of a porous heart is a really strong image, and one that these chords suit well. I kept imagining trying to catch love, flowing like water, in a sieve. A very futile approach!
