I’m so delighted to have had the chance to set some of the legendary @kahlo2013’s words to music! The simple quiet melody popped into my head as soon as I read the lyrics, and I liked that this was so straightforward, even as a subject quite layered with personal history. I think of all my current and former Valentines very fondly.
Liz says: I’m so grateful that Caroline picked up these words and turned them into a tender loving song. She captured the sentiment I was hoping to convey perfectly! Such a warm tenderness in her vocals and gentle flow of the melody capture my feelings that love never dies when love is shared honestly and fully. Thanks @rubberbandage

Thank you so much Alyx! 😊 I think it’s so funny that Liz and I both have wives and positive feelings towards our past valentines, it does seem like a very queer-coded consistency with having relationships that way!

Thank you so much for listening! I’ve been very lucky to only have one ex I never want to see again, and we weren’t together over Valentine’s Day anyway, so I totally felt the sentiment of Liz’s lyrics were true for me ❤️

This is oh so sweet! I love the tender vocals and arrangement. The subtle harmonies work very well to emphasize just the right lyrics. I especially appreciated the line “ to all the Valentines all alone/all the people far from home…” - it’s so sweet to send the love out of your heart all the way around the world to all the lonely and brokenhearted 💚
