Close your eyes and settle down

Skirmish: Lullaby (@deandra)Liner Notes
Nice prompt and indeed, just the sort of thing we need right now. Some harmonies in there...
Lyrics
Close your eyes and settle down Nestle into my arms Wrap your blanket round you tight And drift into the calm of the night
Close your eyes and concentrate Like you did when you were eight The nightmares cannot harm you Just something for you to work through
Find a place that you know well And settle down to sleep The call of the gulls above the sea Beside the ocean deep
Close your eyes and settle down Nestle in my arms I’ll keep you safe and warm my dear You’ll never come to harm
Close your eyes and settle down Close your eyes and settle down

Thank you for being a part of this skirmish! Great voice and loved the harmony, having both Mom and Dad be a part of the soothing song. Soothing music and lyric as well. Great job!
The hook is perfect for a lullaby and the music flow is and your vocals being such beauty to the words. What a lovely lullaby! I will enjoy listening again before bed tonight!
Veeerrryyy, veerrry, niiiice! Did you record the hatmonies separately, and then mix them together? Or did you have a device playing one track while another was recording both the recording and you playing another layer? If you mixed it, how did you synchronize? If you recorded a playback with another layer, how did you balance the parts?
Em. I just recorded it in Logic with vox and guitar, then sang the two harmonies, one after the other on seperate tracks whilst listening back on my headphones. I just lowered the 2 bv tracks a bit and bounced it down. Job done. But thanks for asking. 😀
This is so beautiful! The harmonies are so nice. Great lullaby.
Very pretty -- your output is impressive. The lyric "like you did when you were eight" makes me wonder if this is being sung to an adult -- perhaps the narrator is singing it to themself!
Just beautiful. Love the vocals, harmonies, guitar. Serenity is what it brings to mind. Spot on.
oooh - i love the hypnotic, sleepy guitar and the vocals are nicely delivered
Really nice work. Great harmonies, beautiful poetry. Nailed it.
I'm with @jimeddy9 - as my offering for this skirmish attests.
Delightful lullaby. Is the harmony sung by another person or is it one of the cleverest vocal harmonizers I have heard?
Hi Berni, no harmonisers here, it was just me singing the three parts to fill it out a bit.
Then your female harmonising is perfect. I would have sworn there was a lass joining you on this one.
Wow....this one hit home for me. I have a daughter who is now post-teen and often in my mind I am back singing her to sleep, which I did for a very long time. She has trouble settling herself in general these days, and in her defense I'm not sure how any young person can find contentment with our current culture (at least in the USA). The melody, harmonies, and stark simple arrangement make this one a soothing experience. Nice work!
the promise of safety - i wish it worked that way
