What I Should Do
Liner Notes
Finally got the time to get number five up. More or less it's about moving away from bad habits and focusing more on the one you love, but still struggling not to be an occasional screw up. Also, the middle part is a little messy, and I'm not sure if that's on purpose or just a byproduct of how much of an absolute amateur I am. Anyway. Five down, nine to go.

Lyrics
i sort of feel like i do until i feel like i don't i'd really like to be through i know i probably won't
i'm spending most of my time putting off what i should do i should be spending my time with you
i think i'll put on some tea probably i should confess maybe this habit could be why i'm always such a mess
i'm spending most of my time putting off what i should do i should be spending my time with you
i pull myself up just to break back down all i ever give myself is runaround
i can't make it make sense and i don't know why i can never seem to reach a compromise
i've got this thorn in my side i'm not the first or the last i'd like to get off this ride feels like it's going too fast
i'm spending most of my time putting off what i should do i'm spending most of my time spinning around without a clue i'm spending most of my time knowing exactly what i should do i should be spending my time with you

This is so pleasant to listen to with the through-line vocal harmonies. I really like the middle part, which harmonically expresses more of the tension that's in the lyrics. Admire your production and playing a lot!
Wonderful. A heartfelt lyric, a heart-full performance. Really enjoyed the vocal especially, but the guitars are very nicely played too. Harmony line is so well judged. All in all a really sweet piece of work.
Beautiful crisp, clear guitar tones! I love being surrounded by that staccato transient finger picking. Awesome hum-along melody and wonderful harmony. I like how they start out close, then spread the interval. And then unison! Very effective. The lyrics make me think of how important it is to spend time worthy people we love. It goes so quickly...
The bright, tone on those guitars is making me envious. It's beautiful! You have great vocal harmonies too. Lyrics are really relatable. I think we all have those times when we know what we should do, but don't.
Your guitar playing sounds like sunlight sparkling on water! I love harmony vocals so much, I could listen to them forever!
I really like the song!
What an amazing description of the guitar sound. Thank you for the very kind words!
You‘re very welcome! 🙏
Another classic. Love the layered guitars in the instrumental bits so much that I kinda miss it during the rest of the song, but maybe that's for the best cause it keeps me looking forward to it coming back.
Glad you like it! I was afraid the layered parts would be too busy for the vocal sections. But I am at least working on finding the time to get more layered stuff recorded. =)
Oh damn, those harmonies, paired with your lovely guitar playing. This is top-tier stuff right here! Also, such relatable lyrics, so lovely!
The guitar sounds so crisp and autumny. Combined with the excellent harmony vocals, it establishes a nice mood of contemplative melancholy. Lines like "I think I'll put on some tea" further reinforces the vibe.
Harmonies send this straight to the stratosphere, really like that you’ve kept them close throughout, it’s a different vibe to dropping them in and out and makes this whole thing very full and interesting, heaps for the ear to chew on. Your guitar tone is beautiful and bright. Another banger!
Ooh nice tune! Enjoying that high guitar part in the intro and through out the song. Fits perfectly. Nice vocal harmonies and guitar layers in the bridge. Catchy and relatable chorus lyrics. Nice job!
