Well this is an upbeat song for the heavy lyrics, and I'm jamming to it. I like the octave doubled vocals and the very present bass and drums. i think you are just fine, the song is more than fine 😀

Modern life distilled into a couple of verses. That's how you do it! The upbeat arrangement makes me think that the tension in the lyrics between "I'd rather be dead" and "I'm just fine" is going to be resolved in favour of the latter, and that's always good to know.
