An Ode To Spring
Skirmish: Ode to Spring (@ajna1960)Liner Notes

A lot closer to a respectable skirmish deadline this time. It was as much fun working out the guitar part as it was figuring out the lyrics; both are equally silly.
Lyrics
An ode to spring Is a tricky thing If you live in central Texas It feels ok but It’s gone by May When the heat and humidity wrecks us
I have lived here long enough to know Not to step outside before the sun is low
An ode to spring Is a tricky thing
An ode to spring Is a futile thing If you like your seasons wetter We had three days When it felt ok To wear long sleeves or a sweater
I have lived here long enough to know You should not still be here if you like the snow
An ode to spring Is a futile thing
An ode to spring Is the kind of thing That can break the heart of a yankee By March it’s rough The highs are enough To make me reach for a hankie
I have lived here long enough to know It’s the price we pay for breakfast tacos
An ode to spring Is the kind of thing

Another skirmish...You are killing it! Impressive you can put that together in anything close to a skirmish deadline. The instrumental break might be the highlight for me. Although I definitely chuckled at a number of your lines...Kudos.
Wow - this really does feel like a mix of classical and folk! I love the variability in how you're singing the lyrics - "I have lived here long enough to know" bits have such a cool pitter-patter to them.
Great fingerpicking!! The elements came together real nicelike. Ode to Spring and ode to Texas! Great job.
You play beautifully -- I know that's not the point of FAWM, but it also is part of writing in a song like this, so I hope it's okay to mention it. Those transitions and interludes are just lovely and the composition is so satisfying. Sweet and simple lyrics are just funny enough, too. GREAT work.
Lovely! And true! Having grown up in both south and north Texas I felt this in many ways. Now I want a breakfast taco
Brilliant - I love the classical figure mixed in with a folk tune! Great playing, great tune!
How fabulous. My brother lives in Texas. I've never visited because I can't afford it, and because it's too hot...
Just plain cozy, cute concept too, and the mic capture is super clean too, props for that!
This is a pleasantly different way of interpreting the prompt, love it!
Lol, love it. I admit I expected allergies, but this works too. We burn for breakfast tacos. Okay, I guess. 😀
