It's Weird and Pissed Off, Whatever It Is
Liner Notes
Today's #MovieQuote composition is a nice bit of #slothcore, inspired by Richard Masur's line from John Carpenter's monster movie to end all monster movies, The Thing (1982).
The signal chain on this got a bit silly: Korg M3 piano and guitars going in to a Red Panda Particle 2, a Hologram Electronics Microcosm, an Eventide H90, a Mooer Ocean Machine, and a Chase Bliss Mood Mk 2. Percussion is Heavyocity's "Uncharted 88". If it's not #ambient it's at least #ambient-adjacent. So much fun can be had at 36 bpm.
Unless that's your heart rate, that is, which mine was on Christmas Day... o_0

36bpm, is my kinda pace. Thats roughly how I usually like my music, and that is about my heart rate while sleeping. Seriously though, the atmosphere you created is absolutely stunning, especially the haunting guitar melody starting around 2.20.
I love the quote! The rattle thing is cool. This sounds very clean and light and ethereal despite the silly signal chain.
What a vibe right off! Feels like an impending storm or fight or something. Great use of all of the ambient sounds and drones. Well, I was right about the storm! Hahaha..... The vibe of this is so impending and I just love it. Well Done!
This really has that tension that's in the Thing. Your signal chain here might be a little nutty but it does such a great job of getting the atmosphere right. It's icy, creepy and beautiful all at the same time.
Wow, there is a story about Christmas Day there. I like the change from a percussion bit, things went still. That sustain is really cool, it really creates atmosphere, almost like being on a dock in the night, how quiet a lake can be at night... Another change is taking us somewhere else. Nice soundscapes. It does bring pictures to one's mind's eye. Nice creation of tension and fear. Waiting for the resolution.... A fade. Cool work...
sloth 4 for me (mine is close to completion) oooo nice nap past 2 mins and come back renewed- keep that heart rate up mate. nice morning coffee listen here
C'mon, "Alien" is the monster movie to end all monster movies. Maybe there should be a monster movie about sloths. Anyway. Yeah, I'm loving that sweet sweet Drone underneath it all. Rain or scratchy vinyl noise?!? Great tag there; #ambient-adjacent. Lovely for sure. I need to get back to doing Slothcore tracks. Excellent headphone mix, too.

And there I was thinking my 55bpm track was slow! Really nice textures here - love when the ebow kicks in
So smooth, even with the bumps and jig jags. I like the fire going at around 2:00. Whole thing is pleasant. Bravo.
This is the first bit of slothcore I've encountered this year, and I'd forgotten how much fun could be had with it. It's sounding pretty scary, and it's engaging throughout. I hope the weird thing moves slowly enough that I can get out of here.
I dont know unknown territory I reached here, but I like it. These synthesizers offer a great tapestry of sounds, and that occasional guitar puts me into a diffeent sphere. I could even hear something walking through the jungle. A sloth?
Vey cool, the slothcore naps make this feel like a mini-song-suite. A pleasant surprise.
It takes patience to explore things at this tempo and let the sounds slowly unfold, ambient indeed. The crackle around the 2 minute mark is a great door to the next section. Feels like soundtrack material to an avante-garde time lapse, a dirty modern Koyaanisqatsi without the repeating Glass motifs.
