Yesss. This is neo-bluegrass at its finest. Your mandolin playing is incredible. Love it.
That's some damn fine playing and a top tune. Nice! β
oh yes great stuff. again. agree with @iwilleatyou
Uh, why are you Fawming and not out touring with this? I could see you going the prog-rock route akin to bands like Yes or doing banjo, mandolin punk. Either way works. Personally I'd love to hear all acoustic banjo mandolin guitar screamfest punk.
This is incredibly kind of you. I'll take it to heart, seriously.
Mandolin is the next instrument I am going to buy whenever I can get around to doing that. I really enjoy hearing it in a somewhat less than traditional context. I'm guessing it's called Magpie because that opening riff almost reminds me of birdsong. At least that's what I hear. The nasty (in a good way) cymbals that open it and the fuzzy bass...this is RAD from start to finish.
Edit: I need to add that I have listened to this 4 times on repeat.
Honestly, it's called magpie because there was one outside the window hahahaha, but I'm glad it works as a title. Thank you so much for listening <3
This is soooo cool! It's so impressive how you can change the riffs up so that the energy is high the whole time, yet never boring. Especially love the high note part at 1:55.
Thanks, Blue! I've had "please don't pity me" on repeat since you put it out.
Oh wow, mandolin shredding! I'm excited to hear your take on the banjo, as a newcomer to the instrument... the mandolin and guitar both get a chance to shine here and I love those descending riffs that appear across both.
I'll try to get around to getting some banjo down this month! Thanks for listening π
Holy crap. This rocks in an off-kilter fiddle-hardrock-acoustic-country way. Kudos to your insanely fast shredding and unbounded energy. It's a fantastically unusual headbanging monster hit.
Thank you so much!!! Glad I got you headbanging π€
Wowie! This is different, strange and some of my favorite genres all at once. The compression is what gives it that otherworldly feel, like Beatles/Lennon Claypool Delirium/Molly Tuttle/Ween... Very cool.
I'd have been thrilled with a comparison to any ONE of those, much less all of them π thank you!!
Wow, absolutely amazing! Canβt wait to see what else you make for FAWM.
Thank you for the encouragement! I probably won't be able to maintain the one-a-day pace I started with, but I'll stick with it!
Oh, my goodness!!! This is fantastic. I love the magpie reference. I can see them scattering. The hoodilypoodily is awesome. My friggin' leg won't stop stomping!
This is so excellent and very magpie-like! Yay for the tunes.
Thank you!!
Glad I heard this, this is awesomely done. Going to listen to more!
Thanks so much! Absolutely loving your tunes, too!
Damn it dude, how come every song you do is awesome and also showcases a different thing you can do? Awesome lyrics and vocals (screamin), killer pop punk and now blue grass!?!? Save some talent for the rest of us! π
AHH THANK YOU!! That's so generous, seriously π«
Holy shit dude! I can finally tell my friend I like blue grass π This is my all time favorite fawm song ever! It's even in the running for my all time favorite "real" song π Incredible chops. Nasty ass growlin bass sound. Just frantic and drunk with the joy of life. One suggestion tho - since you're allowing downloads, you should add the ID3 tags with your name n shit so we can find you later...
Damn, that is so incredibly kind!! Thank you for the ID3 suggestion. I haven't published my music before, I'll get on that. I'll probably polish these tracks up and publish them proper come March.
Thatβs some serious head banging, grungy, bluegrass rock music you got going on! Loved it!
Mandoshred...awesome.
