Jonesy
Liner Notes
2
I knew this guy Jonesy.
Written and recorded between 1:54 PM Feb 1st and 3:20 PM Feb 2nd, 2026. Ableton tried very hard to eat this song, but I wrested it back from it's gnashing jaws.
Lyrics
Jonesy wrote a poem, stuck it on the fridge I wonder if the words in it were his Sing em if you know em, like when we were kids That's all it ever is, this is all it ever is
Burn your fickle fears, stow your shame away Someone might be singing with you one day. Tell me what you need, say it like you’re proud ‘Cause someone might be singing with you right now
Jonesy went to college, stuck it on the wall I wonder what it cost him to play ball Say it like you mean it, even if you don’t That’s all that you can know, this is all you’ll ever know
Kill your creeping doubts, act like you’re okay Someone might be singing with you one day Find some funny friends, never let them down Someone might be singing with you right now

So many interesting things happening on this one. Never got bored melodically or rhythmically. And the drum and bass line glue it all together.
What a jam. The backing vocals on this song are ace.
This is super cool! Tight little arrangement, energetic performance, and hooky writing. Bravo
You nailed the post punk sound. Love the vocal harmonies. Tasty guitar breaks. If anyone says this lacks energy send them to me and I'll set them straight. Nice work!
Was hoping this would be about my favourite Jonesy (the cat from Alien) but disappointment quickly vanquished by the killer fuzzy punk pop found within!
Are your gigs as energetic as this? Awesome stuff. Great voice and backing vox. Love the angry guitar and manic drumming too.
I wish I could maintain this kind of energy for an entire gig! I'd probably need to do more cardio hahaha
Well, if you get any gigs in Europe, let me know because I would definitely come see you play. It's great stuff.
S#*t! That woke me up in a great way! And why aren't you famous? What a voice!
That's so nice 🙏 thank you!!!
Good energy! Especially on the vocals. Love the "Right Nows".
Its like every single part of this is an earworm!
Thanks so much!!
Takes me back to everything I loved in high school, and feels like I'm back at a show. Guitar tone is righteous!
I know a Jonesy who is also a singer songwriter. Great pop/rock song. Tapped my toes, nodded my head along with your catchy riffs. Great work!
This Rocks Wow
❤️🤘
Heck yeah brother! Rip it! 🎸🤘 reminds me of my band 🥹 shout out pop punk!
this kicks ass! i love everything about this. the vocals are killer. i like how noisy the guitar is. i listened to it twice and it’s still not enough. i hope you release this because i want to keep listening to it
Thank you!! Very kind of you
Fantastic work! Definitely ear wormy! Love the harmony vox so much! And I love the lyric so much - I definitely needed this boost. Well done!
I need this on my iPod, 17 years ago if not sooner. I'm gonna have to get hold of some of your music to take with me on the day-to-day - really enjoying your work!
Thank you!!! I'm planning to put out more music after FAWM, but who knows. I didn't even decide to do FAWM until the last day of January.
Well this rocked! So much energy here, brought me right back to 00's with Sum 41 vibes. Great musicianship putting all the arrangements together but the vocals are the standout star! That edge on those final 'right now' is the cherry on top! Great lyric to boot, this is a gem!
Great arranging, harmony, production and performance. You got a lot of mileage out of those lyrics.
Hey this is awesome, way to absolutely nail a pop punk banger! The ear worm catchiness of the chorus particularly with the drums/vocals interplay feels very wonder years to me. “Jonesy went to college, stuck it on the wall, I wonder what it cost him to play ball” is gut punch storytelling at its finest. Looking forward to hearing more from you!
Thanks so much!!
oh yes the vox tone and timbre with that slight strain and bvs, brilliant gtrs drums and bass. Loving this one, so in your face with the right production mix master even more huge! Sort of reminds me of british punk and not so much greenday
Great rocker!
