Wow, what a melody and production on this! Crazy good rhythm! I love the sound. Awesome instrumental!
i hear you! It's like I can't get well. I hope you're feelin better!
This takes me deep into my imagination, somewhere I've never been, a street with musicians resting against a wall, someone barefooted dancing. So very lovely!
Thanks for the comment. This was fun and different to do.
I love stuff like this, and the whole thing sounds mystical and exotic. Cigar box guitar sounds great and goes so well with the sitar sounds and tabla. I can smell the incense burning ...
This is super. It goes way beyond writing "in the style of" a genre and is convincingly of that genre. Given the limits of a 3-string cigar box guitar relative to a sitar, your accomplishment is even more impressive. On top of that, your song grooves and is melodically pleasing, and you've really made the most of the small number of tools you've pulled out of your toolbox here. The synth drone and shakers really add something special, and your tabla part is great. Well done!
I have always been partial the the later George stuff from the Beatles. So, here it is again. NICE
Nice! Love that intro and the drone is so cool on those strums. Love the Eastern fusion jam! Love it.
Bela Fleck has a great album playing eastern music with banjo with a couple of Indian musicians called Tabula Rasa. And this song reminds me of that album in the best way.
Very cool and original sounding. You got that 3-string Cigar-Box-Guitar going good. Perfect timing on the synth drone. Fits perfectly.
This sounds like its been beamed straight from the late 60s. You can almost smell the incense! Love it!
Came here through the random song button. Very cool raga instrumental!
I dig the exotic eastern sounding licks! I never would have guessed that was your cigar box geetar. And the drones and tabla, really cool stuff!
Really like the tones you achieved! Love the change at about 1:30! I’m a CBG player too - I like what you were able to do with it…
Very cool!
What kind of CBG do you have that sounds this much like a sitar? Nice jam. Really nailing the Eastern mystic vibes. Hypnotic main riff too.
Leave it to you to come up with something totally unexpected! Love the tones and feel on this. I would have danced, but my blinds are open!!
What a lovely surprise. Clicked as I read CBG, stayed for the sitar-like drones. Really love the sound of this one.
I enjoyed this! The resonance of the drone is very cool, and the mix sounds great with the egg shakers so present (at least through headphones). I also find the sound that can come from a cigar box guitar to be impressive; pretty rich.
I also like the switch from meandering to percussive, as it feels like a journey with slow and fast moments. Perhaps rest and pursuit? (Egg-)shake a leg?
Would be very interested in any lyrics you came up with. This is really good! Thanks for sharing.
Found your Eastern tune, this is really cool. The sitar style drone sounds authentic and the cigar box lines sit beautifully over it. It genuinely has that raga feel, hypnotic and groove led without overplaying it. Great textures and atmosphere all round.
