Toys in the Attic

Liner Notes
The sad, sudden, untimely death of multi-talented star Hayden Panettiere can yet be another lesson to all, and hopefully an eye-opening experience to perhaps just as many within the circles of those who continue to find it too difficult to escape and truly run free.

Lyrics
[Chorus] Like toys in the attic So tossed and scattered All but gone, once mattered Now bruised and battered toys
[Verse 1] In the earlier days How all time stood so still No worry, no plans to fill Just time, run of the mill
[Verse 2] Started with innocence Moving through blissfulness Never saw the hurt clear So blinded through the years
[Chorus] Like toys in the attic So tossed and scattered All but gone, once mattered Now bruised and battered toys
[Bridge] Hold on for holiday Make way for retro day Forever yesterday
[Verse 3] It's quite remarkable How time's less forgiving When there's something to lose Tossing toys as you choose
[Verse 4] And in the winding path Boiled down to it all What still does remain Are those toys you let fall
[Chorus] Like toys in the attic So tossed and scattered All but gone, once mattered Now bruised and battered toys
[Outro] Alone, needing a friend Yeah, yeah, yeah, fortune to the blind... who see
I was so sad to hear she died. And to hear she’d been so poorly cared for and hurt by so many people. I like how you’ve played with internal and classic rhyme here. The lyric has a pleasing flow.
