Second song for the evening. Very much testing your patience here 😅 ...

Among the excellent percussion loops @nahlej381 sent me at the start of the week, he included a loop based on the drum machine from his trusty #casio-sk1. It immediately put me in mind of the McCartney II album (the weird #experimental #electronic early-80s one), so that was my jumping off point. Things went very silly very quickly - I'm just shouting random words and phrases that pleased me - nothing is intended to make sense. Then I layered on as much #funk / autowah / phaser as I could, before adding some falsetto BVs.

All a bit loose and experimental - definitely not my normal way of working (and definitely not my finest work) - but I'm really enjoying trying different approaches on these sprints...

Oh, dang, I like this so much. Yes to leaning in and letting it all fly. It’s like love dipped in butterscotch. And making it short, makes it one of those songs where you just want to keep hitting play again.

Really fun! I try hard not to make comparisons but I just have to say that parts of this reminds me of St. Vincent with a twist of the Beatles. ☺️

This was fun! It's hard to resist trying to make sense of the lyrics but whatever they do or don't mean I'm enjoying how it all sounds.

had mccartney gone all out with the expirmentals on his second solo album, he still wouldnt have got this far into it. nahlej's wild and wonderful track has pushed david into the outer spheres of chaos funk and its good fun for all.

This song had me in the first 10 seconds, which sounds like a bunch of strange ugly/cute robot gremlins talking to each other. I think songs like this are like a state of mind or dreams, playful invention for its own sake. And also the pure fun of saying words like beaujolais, percolator, and derring-do. That's entertainment!
