Liner Notes

Inspired by the Seasons Change challenge. LA's had record-breaking heat and humidity this summer, this week we hit the 100s. It won't cool off until October.

Listened to Zeppelin's "Going to California" for inspiration, and this is what came out. #folk #acoustic #vocals #seasonschange #guitar #countryfolk

Lyrics

Verse 1

This summer it’s 100 Got me feeling stubborn and burnt When I’m waiting at the stop light Getting cooked as the sweat shines my skin, again

Chorus

But there’s far worse places to be Dallas, Norfolk or Miami But there’s only one place for me I know it’s Los Angeles County

Verse 2

Summer’s nearly almost over It’s not getting any colder, again Seems the damage is beginning Mother Earth is done forgiving our sins

"Stubborn and burnt" is how I feel overheating on the subway, too. Poignant, well-crafted lyrics that flow naturally, and that last line is a killer. Nice melody, too. Really sweet song.

100 hm all the way in September, I know I could barely handle the heat here last month and what would that be in Fahrenheit like 90 I guess. Anyway nice groove yeah and good luck.
