#singersongwriter #melancholy #challenge #seasons This is a quick take, as I'm very late to the party. Only able to start writing today after having some time away. Anyway, here's my first effort for the second sprint.

That gentle guitar is the perfect accompaniment to this; I suspect this is the quiet time between blistering heatwaves in the summer and blowing a hoolie all winter...

This is so beautiful! This has always been my favorite time of year whether Southern California, Portland, Silicon Valley, Las Vegas or Florida. I think it all harkens back to the traditional start of school after Labor Day. A new start, the weather cools but dry and sunny in Oregon in October. The smell of the print shop in junior high that followed me for many years working in publishing.
