Wanted to try something a bit different today. I think my ambitions for the vocals exceeded my capabilities, but it's all part of the journey, right? The Sire Marcus Miller F10-6 NT 6-string bass definitely earned its keep on this one. I love playing it.

And this is about my experiences practising Robert Fripp's "Morning Sitting" for a half hour each day for the past month. It's turning out to be a very rewarding thing to do.

Lyrics

Not an easy task To sit so still Sometimes I think I never will

A consciousness concealed Will appear if you take a different view The things that are not revealed Have a way of seeping through

Feels like it's Christmas Eve Ask and you shall receive It's easy to achieve All you have to do is breathe

If we are to start We must begin Your inner eye Sees what's within

Let in the silence And learn to hear When all the noise Has disappeared

Everything is so deliberate in this one! I really enjoy that plaintive cello weaving out, and the way you've alternated singing with part-speaking. The solo section was dreamy. Let us all learn to hear indeed!

This is armchair comfort music for me! Love all the music but its the piano that really get in my head! I love that last verse particularly

Pleasantly smooth. Each sound you bring in that builds to a crescendo makes me think I'm watching waves. Nice.

Those Pripyat pianos really do something to my ears... and with that cello. Ooo, lovely. And with that bass too. Very nice 😎 The whole thing has such a prefect feeling of meditation, reflection and rest.

It's like a warm musical blanket wrapped nice and snug around me. Very enjoyable Chris

Beautiful and very impressive song. Original, poignant and powerful. Love your music, lyrics, vocals and playing. Your vocals are powerfully connected with the whole atmosphere and feel. Gorgeous harmonies and instrumentation. Very moving song.

saw some of my favorite pianos in the tags so I had to check to hear how they were used. You used Pripyat as such an effective mood setter. And Ascend, well that thing just is magical no matter when it's used. Vocals worked great here. The mid section at 2:47 is awesome. It changes the whole feel of everything. Great stuff all around!
