Lyrics

it's like a machine filled with meat symbiotic and full of soul some people thrive some people die but many will just come and go

look up …into the night sky risers high metallic cans fly right on by (we're?)the ants below (that?)move with a flow where (we're?) they're going i will never know

automated land sits upon the sand maybe one day we will sink into the sea

where once were trees with a quiet breeze now replaced with a constant sound and glow try not to eat the concrete where the rubber meets the road

and with one wrong turn you could burn so you better learn where not to go

yeah one wrong turn you could regret coming to the city it could swallow you whole

Such a joyful song about anxiety. I really enjoyed the music and that foxy progression. It's a mix of so many things, bit of 60s garage, bit of new wave but mostly you 🙂. Love the arrangements too. Great listen

Yay anxiety! 😂 Glad you liked it. Yeah it's a mix of somethin'.. I like your description. Not sure if you listened before or after I updated it.. I tried to cut out some of the mud and rerecorded the vocals.

Great vocals here on top of a solid track. Sounded terrific in my headphones. I like the rise in melody on "into the night sky" etc. The backing vocals are satisfying, too. Great composition, sounds ready for radio play (is radio even a thing anymore?).

Oh glad it sounded ok. I try to listen on a few different things. After I uploaded and realized it was pretty muddy so I updated it. now I have a bit of sibilance but whatever. I think FAWM needs a radio station. 😂

The chord shift on the third line of the verse (symbiotic etc) is so musically satisfying. I mean, the progression overall is a nice one too! This has so much energy and drive and the whole production is excellent! Sometimes I do feel like this about cities if I ever spent a bunch of time in the middle of them…

Hi there! This was a quick one and I think I will keep working on it because it's kind of fun to play. It's a little musically repetitive maybe? I have a bit of country bumpkin in me.. I live in the woods basically so cities stress me out lol It's dark here at night so you see the stars and it's quiet, except for the owls and frogs. Thanks for checking it out! I really need to catch up on listening more and I always like your recordings.

Hey, it's sounds like the Wedding Present or some other jangly 80s band - I would question whether that qualifies it as post-punk, or rather post Punk? Not important, however, as it's a great tune and really nice production. I like your list of toys at the end of the lyric! J$

yeah, I am not good with genres.. haha Well, I've been thinking lately maybe mentioning what I used on a particular song could help someone. These are just some things that I have found to work for me. I started recording on a windows pentium II so I've taken a long hard road to figuring it out. There's a few little things I don't include that I think help me make the sound I'm trying to develop but what I listed is the meat and potatoes. Anyways, thank you for listening!
