Chain Reaction

Skirmish: Dominoes (@robinleaf)
There is no demo for this song.

Liner Notes

The skirmish was about dominoes, and I just write a domino song last week (actually two years ago), but I never wrote about a chain reaction, so here goes. The idea here is not so well explained, so I’ll probably rewrite parts of it before I dropped in the music.

Lyrics

[1] The first thing you notice is the ricochet It’s like a note that you didn’t play You hear a word that you didn’t say It happens once what was that about Second time you are still in doubt It keeps going till you let it out

[2] You hear a whistle then you hear the train Nothing there to explain This side of life is very plain Prediction is pretty much a machine You know the lights are turning green Then there’s something that you’ve never seen

[chorus] Chain reaction Love is the seventh moment Chain reaction All the chains are broken

[3] You know the robins and the crows You set them up like dominoes Then there’s the song that no one knows Sometimes you know just what to do Or else you sit and think it through What is the world coming to

[chorus] Chain reaction Love is the seventh moment Chain reaction All the chains are broken

Chain reaction Love is the seventh moment Chain reaction All the chains are broken

It's always a good sign when lyrics only submissions sing off the page to you! That first verse really grabbed my attention.

I look forward to hearing your edit and demo.

Cool take on the prompt. I like it very much.

Really like the notion of missing the first touch/shake--"It’s like a note that you didn’t play"--that all too often sets everything in motion.
