WHAT IF?

Liner Notes

So I've been whining a little lately about my "old man voice"--but I think this song proves I have conquered all of those problems. IT'S A MIRACLE!!

Great job on the Bridge/Choruses Mommy Marthie!! ❤️

Lyrics

WHAT IF?

Verse 1 What if there's no flowers, How do I show Mommy love? What if skies are smoky, And there's no sun up above. What if we can't go outside And play with all our friends, Because the weather's always bad. Is this how our world ends?

MOMMY CHORUS: What if Mommy loves you more than yesterday, today What if Daddy loves you more today and all the tomorrow's (to come)

Verse 2 Mommy played a lot outside, When she was a little girl. And Daddy says he played a bunch-- It was a different world. They both say they're so sorry; Seen them both cry with such shame. But the tv says the government And rich folks are to blame.

MOMMY BRIDGE: Show me your love Give me your hand We play outside with the sun, the moon and stars

MOMMY CHORUS: Mommy loves you more than yesterday, today Daddy loves you more today and all the tomorrow's

Beautiful song and collaboration. The vocals on verses sound different from chorus. Cool concept. My favourite is chorus but it all works a treat to listen to. I wanted your song to last longer :) Wonderful collaboration ❤️

Yes Jerry said he is away until Friday so I took the liberty to post it without his magic mixing wand. This Sprint is so short it makes me nervous.

This is certainly not an old man’s voice! Lovely collaboration and wonderful music! Somber message comes through.

So whose voice is it!! I really enjoyed this! There are some fun twists in the chord progression and the guitar is a nice gentle touch. I'm thinking a lot about my own "mommy and daddy love" today as it's my parents' anniversary. I think everything you say here is true about their love <3 Nice collab!

Really sweet and beautiful—while still being so poignant!!! I’ve had those same conversations with my kids this summer, and it’s so counterintuitive and heartbreaking. A great encouragement to me that mommy and daddy’s love is good medicine even within the challenges of our world today.

This reminds me in such a pure way of songs like “goodbye blue sky” from Pink Floyd’s The Wall—only this song is more encouraging and hopeful!

Real nice chorus, and the rest of the composition. It's an inspiring juxtaposition, the fears if the modern age versus parental love, I know which one I'm rooting for.
