She's Practical Not Pretty

Liner Notes
#needscollab Quick write in the box below. There's some good in here I think. I like the first line and the first lines of the 2nd verse. As is the order is out of sync I think. All can be worked out later... or not! :-)
Lyrics
V I She's practical not pretty My favorite summer fling Always fun to run with just necessities no bling
Never says a word if I'm out and it's not her It's just about the time together There's no pot to stir
V II Every summer I make the promise This will be the last but the past becomes the future Our summer roles recast
Smoldering coals 'cross the westward sky I'll take you to the moon A bow and Christmas lights at night afterglow that ends too soon
V III I've never had another who can do the things you do Feel last night's sway throughout the day sometimes it makes me shudder (this need finessing... Like the intent)
took me to places I've never went Sometime's it's straight sometimes it's bent sometimes in the morning I'm weak in the knees After we laid up at night on a warm summer breeze

I like where you're going with this. I feel the push-and-pull of what might happen next, in terms of the story. I hope you keep at it!
Thanks so much. Always appreciate your input and encouragement! Great guitar work BTW!!
you're too kind! ;) Gotta learn at least 10 more chords.
I like this a lot! You evoke the feeling of a repeated casual connection really well.
Easy fix for that line you want to finesse;
Sometimes it makes me shudder, too
I think it works, if you are keeping the shift to second person there (otherwise you'd have a different rhyming word to worry about of course). 🤷♀️
If I didn't have a backlog of four sets of lyrics since last night (besides like 12 sets I have on a list from before the sprint!), I would offer to do something with this. I hope someone picks it up!
She sounds pretty good to me! This bit really jumped at me "Smoldering coals 'cross the westward sky I'll take you to the moon A bow and Christmas lights at night afterglow that ends too soon" nice one
Good one! Gives me nostalgic summer vibes. Sharp writing, good rhymes. My quick-fix suggestion for 3rd verse is to switch the first two lines: Who can do the things you do? I've never had another
