Liner Notes

A song about the Greater Roadrunner, which you'll find in the deserts of the South Western United States and Mexico. I did extensive research from the most reliable sources, so I'm pretty sure this is all accurate. #ukulele #nerdfolk

I thought this was going to be relatively simple to record then I decided to try to play bass (a thing I don't really know how to do) and add a few other overdubs. If nothing else, it was fun having a go.

When I started this, it was just because of the joke line about the tunnel but the more I wrote the more I was thinking of, as @wynia put it elsewhere, non-drawn folk and what we have to deal with in the real world. I think I will hang on to this one. Thanks!

This is giving road trip in the southwest USA vibes, like Route 66 stuff, really nice! That organ is such a nice touch when it comes in. The lyrics can be about people too, yeah? Really nice work!

I think the arrangement worked nicely. I like this thing you do of taking ideas that should be funny, or even silly, and finding more meaning in them than expected.

Good story telling, a slice of a time gone. Lots of nice touches here, backing vocals organ etc all comes together in a very full sound

I love the imagery of this song. The larger feeling/meaning is wonderful and difficult to describe (as most truths are).

I live in Southern California and visit the desert here in CA and Arizona often, and I've always had a fondness for roadrunners.
