Let's Jump and Jive

Liner Notes
#needsmusic My swing at a lyric about big band dancing inspired by louie prima and brian setzer "Jump, jive and wail" think it could could swing with a jump blues approach. This is the first pass still needs work. Might be too wordy at the moment. classic boy meets girl and all ends well!!
Lyrics
v i babe I'll say when you walked by me Swing and sway knock me out of my tree So snazzy Jazzy i couldn't though But My hearts a pumpin sayin' go, go, go
Caught you there at Lake and State Tugged the lapels of my best zoot Tipped my hat asked for a date If you like to dance I'm your best suit
PC Looked up & down asked what I had showed her my step, "'so good your bad" C Oh Honey darling, there's no blue roses We're on fire from head to toe-ses Baby let's Jump and Jive
vii Tell you what let's Jump and jive Spin 'round the floor We'll come alive you're 24, no 9-5 My hearts a pumpin we're live, live, live
We hit Steven's Boulevard Room The band was smokin' on every tune She matched my step made me swoon My heart's a pumpin, I know, know, know...
bridge She was sayin' let's go, go, go Danced til 3 what a show, show, show Been dancin every day since then
Looked up & down asked what I had showed her my step "'so good your bad" C Oh Honey darling, there's no blue roses We're on fire from head to toe-ses Baby let's Jump and Jive
outro We on fire from head to toe-ses Baby let's Jump and Jive, Baby let's Jump and Jive, Baby let's Jump and Jive

Okay I totally love this (and when I saw your title, the appropriate song did pop in my head lol - I saw BSO play that live when they were on their tour for that album). And I have suuuch a lyric backlog but I kind of want to take a stab at this... 😬 I would not have time to try to arrange something that sounds appropriate (was like horn plugins and stuff, because my goal for this front is to knock out as many songs as possible, just the bare bones of them). Maybe I'll wait a bit and see if someone picks it up?
OMG btw I'm going to the Ohio Valley Filk Festival and I think those folks would really get a kick out of "I Thought the Headlights Were Heaven" - if it's cool for me to perform that in a circle there, I'll let you know with the reaction is.
Robin! Love what you've been putting up! Thanks for stopping by for a read... Always appreciate your input! RE: Headlights... Feel free to play whenever, where ever It's our song!! Feel free to stabbity-stab! LMAO!
Oh yes. I can see the couples lined up with their spats and flouncy skirts. Hope it finds a dancehall treatment!
scanning your verse, i dont find it wordy at all. the singer just has to know how to jump and jive with the words..the way the 50's guys used to do. nowadays wordy songs are just wordy. but this one swings.\
