#collaboration #collab #guywithpiano #slow I loved the lyrics to Liz Kahlo's post to the sun becomes the moon #skirmish (https://fawm.org/songs/333965) and with her permission, decided to orchestrate it with electric piano and balalaika (because, why not?). I'm really not sure how to categorize this genre-wise. It's not quite a rock ballad, it borders on #musical theatre, but with Steely Dan #jazz chords. Any suggestions will be appreciated! And Liz, I hope we passed the audition!

Liz (kahlo2013) says: I wasn’t sure how @raspberry33 would pull off putting these words to music but his spot on phrasing, beautiful flowing melody, wonderful electronic piano approach, and sprinkles of balalaika sounds really elevated the celestial and open feel that I hoped my words might convey. Ooh, I'm glad I stumbled on a song using balalaika! My dad had one from the USSR when I was a kid. Nice collab -- the vocal is a bit dreamy and spacy, even before the background angelic sound comes in, which works so well with the lyric. Yet the musical underpinnings both lift and ground it a bit.

Great choice of music to support these lyrics. The bit of choir sounds in the background give a good sense of space.

These chords! 😍 the keys tone is perfect too! I love the celestial imagery, especially the phrase “luminous elucidations” - I’m picturing the moon showing us the way to a more positive future
