You don't say it outright, but by encouraging us to "listen for blue jays", it's encouraging us to ditch the headphones that are everywhere, both pleasing us with our own music choices, but making us miss other beautiful sounds. Oh, I really like this! The words and guitar are lovely. Your voice sounded great, totally suited to the emotions of this song. The only change I'd make, if I had the arcane techie skills, would be to replace the guitar squeaks with more bluejay calls. The birdsong sounds lovely, and somehow adds a little hope to the lyrics.

Love me the sound of birds in a song, I really like the line "To dream myself out / Of this Underworld I've found", it's relatable and poetic, I feel almost anyone is dreaming of better things, and in doing so we all start to believe the world is far worse than it is, so yeah, take your mind off things and experience some nature might indeed be a the place to think of something else or keep musing on that.
