Look with wonder across the whole year. Can you see in your mind's eye all the colours that come and go with the seasons? That's what Liz created with yet another beautiful set of lyrics. I always feel honoured when I'm allowed to supply a musical interpretation for Liz's words.

I love how you have so many descriptors in your lyrics. They give off a clear image of the changing seasons. And in a way that is memorable.

The moving of seasons by colors is one of the most beautiful things! I lived in California for a time (the rest of my life has been in the Midwest), and the absence of the color markers of the seasons always got under my skin a bit (though the lack of winter was pretty amazing!) Right now it’s “yellow” season where I live - goldenrod and sunflowers. I can tell the greens are turning a bit dusty so soon I’m sure we will transition to red/orange/brown. Lovely writing and word picture!!

I live where the changes in colour are a feature, although I could easily forego the snow.

The colours are ballroom dancing in my mind! Swirls and twirls like a fabulous society party of long ago.

Hi Jane! I was thinking of the colours as aspects of nature, but I like the idea of ballroom dancing, too. (Not that you're going to get me to do it!)

I see you joined in 2023, be careful, it is addicting! My first FAWM (feb.) was in 2009 and I did 10 out of the 11 years until that dang pandemic. I like this one, it has a 6/8 feel and definitely dances along. I see you are also a studio one user. I am battling the simplest things right now (I come from the old cakewalk sonar sw). I might have to ask for advice in the future.

Yup! The track has drums in 6/8 but my guitar thumping has a 3/4 feel. I like to confuse people, I guess.

I also have some techniques that are probably different than most other folks and I don't mind sharing if you're in the mood for it.

Good stuff you two! The waltz groove gives the song a sort of musical theater vibe in my mind. Your very pretty melody may also add to that theater sensibility. Great title and a sweet lyric about things that we often take for granted (at least I sure do). Excellent collab!
