My Galoshes

Liner Notes
Keeping on my challenge of short songs this sprint while I recover from injury. Here's a jingle about the downpour that hit us this morning- and the one thing I didn't have.
Lyrics
The water’s filling up the street It'll hit the house in a couple of feet I'd go clean out the drain But I can't find my Galoshes.

Thank you! Might have to repurpose this a bit I think!
Hope the injury gets better fast! And that the galoshes were found! This is a cool fragment, of the type my kids and I are constantly singing around the house. Why NOT write a song about anything and everything!
Sometimes that's all it needs! A few lines to say a thing and then off you go. I like this one - a little snippet of a bigger story and we can fill the rest in ourselves.
As it turns out, my galoshes would have been little help. They had to bring in a big sewer truck to deal with it. Best I stayed in dry.
I love this! I think it would be a great chorus, but it's a jewel as it is. Wishing you a smooth and swift recovery.
Thanks! Doing the short tunes has been a fun exercise in saying something creatively but succinctly. I'm enjoying it!
Get well soon. I agree that this would make a great chorus.
